i saw a live-performance of mike oldfield
year ago in tv. he played TUBULAR BELLS 1
with his sister and some other stuff.

is there any available cd-version of this
live version ???
it has a superb e-guitar played by mike
oldfield. and i think it's the best version
of tubular bells ever.

anybody knows something about it ??

Concert version of "Tubular Bells" is on "Exposed" album (but I don't know is it the same version, which you have seen). On "Exposed" album is also concert version of "Incantations".
Exposed is 2CD album, published by Virgin in 1979.

different. i hate this, i really looked
for these TB1 version for years, but it
seem not to be available. suxxxxxxxxxxxxx

it was played in tv (3sat, German-TV)
bad quallity in mono, but the best
e-guitar ever in TB1, no other TB1 version
can beat it.

Hey dirk!

Was the guitar red? It could be the Gibson SG Junior. Take a look at my homepage.

ooops,am I understood so wrong ??
i just meant the best
e-guitar-solo i ever hear, not the best
e-guitar i ever saw :-))))

but i belive the guitar is on your side.
FENDER STRATOCASTER.
i saw this guitar on many live-concerts,
maybe all ?? but it never sounds so good
like in this TB1 Live Version.
or was the solo played on an other ??
can't remember, must watch the video again.
Maybe I'll put an mp3-preview online when
i have the time.

Check out the video named 'tubular bells part 2' on :
http://home4.swipnet.se/~w-43362/Hergest_Ridge/music.html
If it's that, I don't think it's available on VHS or CD. Maybe, ask the site's webmaster for more information...

Tubular Bells Live was shown by the BBC in the UK around 73 or 74. A 3 minute extract was shown on TOTP 2 about six months ago. The BBC uncovered the archive footage but it is believed to be incomplete.

Anybody got a video or audio copy of the event?
