Wow that was amazing! Too bad Mike wasn't much in the picture though.

But the first time I saw Mike with a Minimoog Voyager. ;)

Yes - Mike played live in the Olympic Stadium - there was also a big band jazz version of TB in the middle of what he played - all while first the National Health Service and children's literature were celebrated.

On German TV, the stupid commentators talked during ca. 80 % of Mike's performance, describing the UK health system etc. ... :(

It was really fine on BBC One HD. Mike could have been a bit more shown tough.

Thats why I recorded it from the BBC 1, because they kept their mouth shut. I was following the Dutch broadcast on my iPad at the same time, and indeed they also talked about 80% of the time.

I hope the 'Isles of Wonder' soundtrack (download available from 00.01 BST) has Mike's contribution on it.

Hopefully indeed! I had already forgotten Cavalier's post about it. If not, I might have to harrass Blue Dolphin for a copy :)

I am VERY happy for Mike being involved in this. Great arrangements of both TBs and In Dulci Jubilo. They revealed earlier on telly that Paul McCartney will be the last artist to perform (maybe this was common knowledge already?). Would be great if Mike would reappear for a joint performance with Macca... not likely, though.
