To be honest Bob, UCJ (The label) are the top classical label in the UK and 9 out of 10 of the nominated albums are UCJ releases so they won't be too bothered :)

Added my vote :-) Anyone heard any of the other choices? - i'm simply voting as I love Mike's music, MOTS being up high in the list.

Please people, let's keep it on topic here.

@ Hairy Old Hippy --> How did you find out about the voting, by the way?

I'm still thinking of a way to get more votes for Mike. One way I found out is that if you delete your cache on your internet browser, you can vote again with a different email account. So people, let's give it a try!

He made a blog message about it on his myspace though.

I found out from the blog. I'm on myspace and I received a blog alert as soon as it was posted.

Andrew Taylor's Mohribold album has proved very popular with fans of symphonic-rock, prog-rock, psych-folk and indeed Oldfield's classic albums!

Might I request an explanation from Admin/Moderators for the
editing of my 03/14/2009 Post? The facetious response- which I note remains in situ- notwithstanding.

It was removed because it was disruptive. I note that we don't yet have a 'no politics' rule in our guidelines like a lot of forums have...I think it's time to put one there. I know the response to introducing that will probably be something like "But discussing it is interesting!"; I don't disagree, but when you set up a Mike Oldfield forum, you don't do it because you want to spend all your time breaking up fights over things which have precious little to do with him (yes, he's an inhabitant of the world like the rest of us, and world politics affects him too...but that's about as far as it goes...).
There is a section of the guidelines about how we may delete things which are "off topic or otherwise irrelevant" and "inflammatory or disruptive". Ok, so I edited rather than deleting all of it - I thought that maybe you'd still like the relevant and non-inflammatory part of your post to be kept. I can get rid of that as well if you feel it would be more fair...

I don't see any facetious responses remaining; I do see a request to keep things on topic, which I'd say is a very good piece of advice :)

Sorry to everyone whose posts have disappeared/ended up missing bits as a result of the little clean-up...I know that those diversions can be fun for people, but it's really not fun (perhaps especially for us) when it starts getting heated and people end up being upset by it. I think this is a nice piece of news here, and there are more nice bits of news to come, so let's keep things...nice!

It has to be said that it is great to have some news about Mike after such a long "dry spell". Any more will be most appreciated!

Have a nice life, folks of these  Forums. Mind that naughty Mister Reality-Check doesn't come around one day and bite you in your nice posterior.

I don't know, but I have a guess here...if MOTS was nominated as album of the year,maybe...maybe...maybe...Mike can be also nominated on other categories @ Classical BRITS....my guesses:

-composer
-male artist of the year

Dunno...dunno...dunno.

I have voted 4 times now but I don't know if my later votes are being counted or not, has anyone voted more than once? I have used two different email addresses, but it seems to let me vote as often as I want as long as I go out and come back in again.

I wouldn't recommend re-voting - even if from a different email address as the rules specifically state that repeated votes will just be discarded so not worth losing your vote over!

I used a different email account for the second voting, and with a different name. Hope they don't discard that one. ;)
