Good heavens, a Mike Oldfield specialist who I've never heard of and, as far as I know, is not on this forum. A few tricky questions and he may flounder.

Gavin seems to work for the Telegraph, an article by him on Mastermind here also mentioning Mike as his specialist subject!

Hmmm, wonder what questions they'll dig up? How about "What is the name of the 7th track on Mikes 20th studio album?"...

That should be interesting.  Will someone remember to remind me on the day itself?  (My memory is hopeless.)

The sad thing is I bet every single one of us gets every singe question right. I'll be buggered if I know (hey that might be the answer to one of them)

I was wondering that - though I'm not good on names. I'm going to have a good crack at it.

This guy was the Telegraph's Doctor Who expert, making a number of factual errors in his reviews of the episodes this year. As well as causing a big stink by missing the point of the Van Gogh episode. (an artist with severe depression is shown that he will be a success but still kills himself because he suffers from severe depression. Mr Fuller seems to think that he should have snapped out of it and cheered up).

I expect him to mispronounce "Hergest Ridge".

No doubt he'll make a few mistakes, and you'll all think you could have done better. A few of you seem to be already anticipating that you will.

Well, you may be right, but as you are answering from the comfort of your own armchair, then he'll be giving you the equivalent of at least five points head start. Try it in his position, and then see what you think.

CR, the term "sitting on his hands" usually refers to someone failing to act. On the contrary, untruth I think has twice been a Mastermind contender and therefore presumably fairly well placed to comment here.....

Please be more polite.

Is there anyone watching now?

Nothing impossible if you're into some details about MO's music and life...

I have to say that was reasonably impressive. The question research was limited to discography and autobiography which helped, but he did get a full house under pressure. Good luck to him in the final on Friday.

I was expecting some harder questions  ...I got 15 (16 if I waited till the end of the question which your supposed to do ) .....not bad with no revision !

I would have done worse if I was in Gavin's shoes though ..I'd be too nervious esp. knowing how poor I am at General Knowledge !!

WELL DONE GAVIN !!!! ...All the best for Friday !

Beating Chris Hughes is no small feat either !!
