THIS IS DIRECTLY TO MIKE:

It is so f-----g GREAT to see you playing live again Mike, and you are handling that aucustic guitar magically!!! E.g., those IMPOSSIBLE-IN-WORDS-TO-DESCRIBE Ommadawn phrases, never ever played better than now, even more magical than back in 75... The way that main theme is played by you, ... the phrases ... the slightly distorted sound of the guitar ... it is pure magic! It is from a different world.

Therefore, I find your idea to write for orchestra and aucustic guitar splendid; of course, the guitar must be played by yourself, not only for your technical expertise but even more for how well you communicate through it (often with a rather it-looks-simple but geniuos touch! ) .

The BACH of our time, still going strong; no living artist is as spiritual and brilliant as Mike Oldfield; just look at youtube.com (thank god for it! ) e.g., the moment in Cologne 2006 when the Ommadawn final choirs breaks through and not even Mike himself can remain cold; the strenght of the music is too much even for the brain behind it (see how Mike reacts in exactly that moment; it is revealing).

Of course, you will never get fair enough credit for the amazing unique stuff you gives us; later on, in 50 years or soo, you will be generally reckoned as one of the absolutely largests ever in the entire history! Trust me on that one

Looking forward to the next masterpiece; don't rush it, let it mature, play it live a number of times before recording it. Why? Because you always finds ways to improve your stuff when playing live. In fact, you are greatly underestimated as a live artist!
