Just before Christmas I bought a Samsung PT-1200.  A lovely big 5.1 surround sound system that plays just about every music/video format.

It's awesome with SACD and DVD-A.

The only Mike I'd played on it though (stupidly) was the DVD-A disc that came with TB2003.  It was good, but a little disappointing.

However......... at the weekend I thought I'd watch the TB2/TB3 live concerts.  OH..... MY.... GOD!!!!

STUNNING!  Best I've ever heard either of them... with TB2 even better than TB3.

Just wish I had no neighbours!!!

Hope the Montreux DVD is half as good aurally!

Hope to come across to some publicity too
Here in Holland, or on the net...
Looking forward to this dvd, can't believe, it'll be out very soon now...
Don't care so much for the Ommadawn live (of course it's great, but I've seen it on the Essential video), but I'm more looking forward to hearing the Qe2 tracks :)
Those I've heard a lot live, but not so much video :)
Anyway, it's superb dvd :)

For EeTon

Many thanks for the Ommadawn info .... thats made me very happy  :D  ...

It would be too much to hope for if the TB pt2 excerpt included the heavy rock version of the 'guitars sounding like bagpipes' tune that Mike did at some early 80's concerts I went to ...... I really loved Mike's guitar playing on that ! ?

What part do you mean?  The second theme on the Exposed LP (TB pt2 side, that is) is a melody that is not included on TB or OTB.  I think it is a brilliant part.  It does not sound like bagpipes though.  Did you mean this part or another one?

For Nicolas

I thought the 'guitars sounding like bagpipes'  description was self-evident ...I'm referring to the tune just prior to the Piltdown Man section on the original TB where Mike uses 'guitars sounding like bagpipes' ?

Eeton confirmed Mike played this part at Montreux and consequently I'm very happy !

Neil  :)

P.S. This part was not played on the Exposed LP !

I know we´re all waiting for the new DVD to fall on our doorstep. We´ll also talk about it for a long time.

But I already spotted something new on www.oldfield.de.
We´ll probably must wait a long time, but it seems there´s already something new coming up. The webmaster isn´t allowed to talk about the contents of it, but he says it is a DVD project from Spain and it has something to do with MO. The titlesong of the project can be downloaded on the site and it really sounds great.

Just want to let you all know that there´s probably already coming something new, even before the Montreux DVD is released.

Have all fun with the Montreux DVD coming up!!!

Mine too!!!  Should turn up tomorrow or Monday :D.  The only thing is my amplifier is rather old,  keeps cutting out as I switch between  DVD and CD functions.   Had £443 paid in to my bank  account today ( a pleasant surprise indeed) :D , so I might have a little splurge (up to £150) and buy myself a new amp.

YIPPEEE,be able to play DVD's properly.   Love tohear Live at Montreux through a decent hi-fi   .   Next onmy list is a turntable I can then hear my LPs, since about 1/2 my music is on LP.

BTW I'm interested inthe Cambridge Audio "A1 Version 3," or especially their "A5" model , read great reviews.at 60watts per channel ,is the A5 toopowerful to drive apair of Mission "732" speakers???   Any  hi-fi experts please.

I got it today, and watched it. I wont give away anything... but I can tell that it's another marvellous dvd. Really worth it, and it's a nice long, varied concert. Mike himself is in good form, looking extremely cool etc. and there are some nice surprises and humourful bits in there!
I won't say anything more ;)

Any extras included on it?

To Piltdownboy on horseback 22

How good is the picture & sound quality ?

I've preferred stereo to surround format on music dvds in the past .... Does the surround esp. DTS enhance the sound on this dvd ?  :/
