I recently bought a Korg M1. It works great, except from one thing: the connection of the sustain pedal. There's three ways to connect the pedal to the rear of the keyboard but two of them seems to change programs, up/down and the third one is a "damper". I want the pedal to work with a great sustain. I don't have a manual to the keyboard so I don't know what to do.
Can anybody here help me, who knows the M1?

Thanks  :)

Google knows that Dr. Evil knows:
http://www.webcoast.com/drevil/korgm1manual/
more at: http://www.synthzone.com/korg.htm
- seems to be just a matter of setup in the voices, from a quick glance.
.. or just get http://www.korguksupport.co.uk/upload/M1_Owners_Manual.pdf in English resp. in German at:
http://www.korg.de/uploads/tx_softwarecenter/KORG_M1_Handbuch.pdf (both scanned, no text search - dunno if there's also a swedish version..)

Well, well, well... :)
A moment before I clicked on this topic, as soon as I read the title, I was thinking: connect it to the damper hole. :D But I wasn't sure whether the Korg M1 had one, because I'm not familiar with that keyboard. But now that I've read your post I'm sure about this. ;) You know, I've got a Roland VA-7 synth-arranger-keyboard, and when I needed a sustain pedal I bought one which was marketed as a 'damper pedal'; I connected it to my Roland's 'damper' input, it worked splendidly, it still does. :) So my advice is: don't waste your time browsin' through complicated technical manuals, just go ahead and plug your pedal's jack right into the damper hole. It'll work. :D

How are you finding the M1? I'd been thinking about getting the Korg Legacy Digital edition which has software versions of the M1, Wavestation with lots and lots of preset sounds, and some multi-effects.
