It doesn't seem to have been mentioned here, but Kim Wilde just released a version of "To France" on her new cover-album "Snapshots". Of course nowhere near the original, but still pretty cool to hear her sing it.

Would he feel flattered or offended when this happens to him? Both, I guess?

:( I don't agree !

Kim is a respectable singer ! She made me dream during my youth !

I think it's better to be sung by her than a b....t made by a techno band !!!

So i like this version and she has used the "sounds " from the eighties ! It's great to hear the intro of To France with the same sound used to Cambodia intro !!!

Edit: and as she likes France ( and French people has always loved her too )it's very appropriate !

that groove coverage must be the worst thing since unsliced bread!

Although, it can probably get worse, it always does and it still amazes me  :)

Hmm - yes, slightly 'pinched' is about right.

Kind of withholding...tight... cautious. I want her to breathe and let go. :)

It may be that I'm too much used to Maggie's ethereal voice, but I think this is just horrible. :) That "Cambodia"-styled bassline and the la-la-la backing vocals just don't fit on this, IMHO.

Amazed how her voice has held its Form from the 80s ...
The Albums got better when she moved from RAK to MCA  ..
Lots of Fairlight Synths...     Love this Song the second Time..

On a related note Kim writes this on twitter today:

"Was listening to Tubular Bells on holiday...bliss"

so maybe it wasn't a coincidence that she chose TF ?

Funny thing. Kim Wilde was my first idol and Mike was my 2nd. I never thought to combine them :-)
