I decided to listen to some Jade Warrior the other day, after many years. What struck me immediately was how close in spirit the music is to Mike's 70s works. Especially "Floating World" from 1974, with its mix of ethnic chants and heavy guitar riffing. Good stuff!

As you all probably know, Jon Field from JW plays on some of Mike's records.

I haven't listened to them in years but I remember there was a fair amount of duplication, in terms of musical themes and even melodies, among their albums. Way of the Sun was by far their best, in my opinion. But I eventually lost interest in them.

I've only just discovered Jade Warrior yesterday! I came on here to see if anyone had mentioned them.

I'm not one for just listening through youtube - I think I'm going to buy one of their CDs to start with, and The Floating World seems the one to get. I have had a quick browse on youtube, and from what I hear they sound quite similar to Brian Eno (the guitar especially) and only passingly like Mike.

Looking forward to delving deeper!
