Where is everyone ?

It's all gone very quiet. I'm still here to be abused,

You'll have to resort to self-abuse, Kev. Milamber left a Cheech and Chong video around somewhere

Nightspore,

Tried self abuse yesterday, and, broke the mirror when I answered back.

Shocking.

Through no fault of my own, I started learning bass guitar a few weeks ago. I sat in for a real bassist shortly thereafter and wasn't laughed at or booed off the stage. And.....I have fallen in love with the beastie and am driven to play. I've generally only played guitar for preschool story hours (where they usually don't care what you sound like--they just want to sing along), so for me, this is truly SHOCKING.

You'll always be Inkanta.

Inkanta the Basswoman.

Sounds like the title of something.

Maybe a short story by Nightspore, whereby  the heroine turns up at a gunfight with a bass.

Shocking !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A bass? Could be fishy as well as shocking

Speaking of country-ish things, like gunfights at the OK Coral Ear,
I've been listening to some of your work in this area, DL. I don't generally like countryish stuff (with a few exceptions, like "Rose of Cimarron") but I really enjoyed pieces of yours like "Mary Jane". Yee hah!

You make it sound as though you've been trying to hide them, Dunlooser   They're on Enfin's Myspace page, as if you didn't know!

Actually, "Mary Jane" is no longer on the site, although it was there yesterday, because I listened to it.

Also, Inkanta's name is Mary-Carol (she's a FB friend and won't mind me saying so), so maybe she could strike up a country note too. Alternatively, a duet with EeToN called "Floating Rose of Cimarron"

:)

Priceless Nightspore, how do you remember such classic scenes?

I thought of Inkanta with her bass.

Then I thought of the gunfight.

Would you get to say, " Go for your fish, but.............go for it slow "

Yikes!! Shocking!! You can draw your bass quickly when needed. :D The Last Chance Saloon reminds me of one of the taverns where my fiance plays--good to have a bass to hide behind sometimes, especially if they don't like what you're playing. :D Ah, where (when?)  is the good Doctor when you need him?

BTW....thanks to old friends belonging to the Bassmaster fish organization, I seem condemned, any time I see the word "bass' in print--even in a musical context--to thinking "fish." My poor brain then has to map "bass" to the musical instrument. Y'all aren't helping with that, hahaha!

BBTW...it will be years until I earn the title "basswoman"  - I am merely a student....an apprentice...with a very long road ahead. I love the bass but haven't yet become the bass. :) Ah... dreams of five-string, fretless basses....Chapman sticks.....Tony Levin, Getty Lee, Carrie Melbourne, Jody Austin, John Paul Jones, Chris Squire, etc. etc. etc. Sigh.

I have a very good sense of time, DL (and an equally bad sense of space  :(  ). It's amusing that all the classic science fiction series had one western episode. In Star Trek it was "Spectre of the Gun", and in Lost in Space it was "West of Mars", where Dr Smith was threatened with a "pit of space-vipers"
