Well, welcome to the wonderful world of iTunes...  :p :/

Anyway...who cares about some digital stupid booklet. I just bought those live "excerpts" at Bilbo and are waiting for the studio material
to drop down in my mail box as a physical CD album any day now.  :D

It also brought a smile to my face to catch the faint sound of the fans going "wooooo!" at the end - just a shame they had to fade it out so early!

That was me! heheh

I couldn't help myself!

I also prefer cd's above compressed music, because of the sound quality. I really don't get it why we have to buy an album digitally, which these days is more expensive than a cd from an internet shop, and getting it with even less quality than a cd!

But I'm still wondering if I will buy that live version of iTunes. Maybe it will be released on cd in the future. Of course it's that commercial move from Universal.

I'm so sorry for all the people who have bought the album digitally on iTunes and didn't receive the PDF booklet and video's. That's real shame for iTunes!!

Those of you who bought the album on the 17th and ended up without the PDF booklet might be interested to know that I've had success in getting one by following the 'report a problem' link on the invoice. It'll open up a page in iTunes which allows you to report a problem with the playlist, then you can select the exact nature of the problem (I forget the exact name of the option I picked, and it won't let me back in to check, but it was something along the lines of 'Item not received') and type in a description (I just said how I'd bought it understanding that there would be a PDF booklet included, but that there wasn't, and that I could see no way of getting the one they have since added to the product). They added the PDF booklet to my account, so I could get it through the 'check for purchases' option in iTunes.

It's exactly the same as the booklet included with the CD though - there's no additional information about the live recording.

What's strange is that when you want to order the album + live concert on the Dutch iTunes, you don't get the two video files. I've looked on the English iTunes; they're right there. What can be done if I want have them? (still haven't received the cd from play.com!!!! aaaaaaargh.... my last play.com order took ages, maybe this one will too!!!!!!! )

Not all iTunes-stores sell videos ...
Probably the Dutch iTunes doesn't sell videos, so they don't/can't add videos to their "special editions" ...
Same in Belgium... :/

By the way, for the people who have bought MOTS on iTunes: in what bitrate does iTunes offer the music? 128 kps or 256 kps AAC?

@ Blue Dolphin: it's VBR, but all the files are more or less 160 kbps AAC.

That's interesting...the ones I bought from the UK store are all 128kbps CBR.

I feel I ought to add to this topic that since writing to complain of not getting a booklet, iTunes customer service has been fantastic - the person dealing with my problem wrote back to me to make sure that I didn't need any further assistance, then also replied again to the email I sent thanking them for the assistance. I'd been concerned it would be one of these cases of "Well you shouldn't have bought online from a large corporation, should you?" but I must say I'm impressed.

Thanks for that tip, Korgscrew. I have also reported it. I'll let you all know what happened.

oh my! That's even less quality than I've thought. Why do you pay for that if I may ask?

I think I'm going to wait when it's released in iTunes Plus package (256 kbps AAC). I'm not going to pay for 128/160 kbps for classical music. I can instantly hear the difference compared to a cd. 256 kbps AAC gets closer to uncompressed music in my humble opinion.

The iTunes service IS great. But note they only offer support in English, French, German, Japanese and Spanish, so they didn't understand my first Dutch e-mail. After I sent it in English, they added the booklet to my iTunes account the next day.

Now... for the video interviews. :)

Because I wanted a copy and they wouldn't give it to me for nothing :p

Perhaps had I not been there, I'd not have been so interested in getting the recording, but I wanted it as a souvenir. I must say it makes a nice one.

I could also hear the difference compared to a CD, but there is no CD, and no immediate plans to release one (or a higher bitrate version on iTunes either), so it's currently a case of compromise or nothing...you pays your money and you takes your choice...

It's nice music, an enjoyable performance, and the artefacts aren't too annoying. That may make me a sucker, but then that's not unusual for a fan ;)

I'd personally like a high resolution surround version (I can instantly hear the difference between that and CD too), but I'm not going to hold out for that either!

I wouldn't be surprised if Universal would release a special 2 CD-set of MOTS with the live version on CD in a year or so from now. I've seen that happen a lot.
