Hello one and all!!

Just signed up to the forum and thought I'd introduce myself.

I'm Jonathan and I'm 28 years old and have been listening to Mike Oldfield since I was 3 (apparently it was the organ drone part from 'Tubular Bells (Part 1)' where I said I liked it 'cos it was weird and spooky!  :/ ).

Hope to be able to blend in with the tubular.net community and share in the discussions about the legend that is Mike Oldfield!

Hwyl fawr (as we say in Welsh)! :)

Welcome, Goudeskitchen. Are you ready for our initiation ceremony? I warn you: it involves Milamber, some butter, and a single tubular bell.

Hello, good to meet ya! I also had a "spooky" experience with TB1. It was 1967 and I was 6 or 7. I had a dream where I heard note-for-note the bass-only booming riff on side 1 at the 7:00 minute mark. Skip to 1973. I get the album then hear that part and think, "where did I hear that before?" Then I remembered that dream in Taiwan in 1967. Oldfield had my complete attention since then. Jimbo

I never knew this but there is a show in Holland called Bassie en Adriaan and apparantly they have used Tubular Bells in a scene. Maybe that's where I got the Mike Oldfield craze from. I think I was 6 years old when I watched Bassie en Adriaan.

Here's the intro (no TB in this one):
