Recently I've bought a vinyl at Universal online shop and it didn't take too long to recieve it in a perfect condition.

Fingers crossed that this time for Incantations, all those problems won't dare to appear again!

Me too. I ordered The Jimi Hendrix Experience: Live 1967/68 Paris/Ottawa Fan Pack Vinyl/CD and it arrived in two weeks. So it looks like it will be fine this time.

But you know mr. Murphy right?...

OK I might have gone crazy but on the billing adress page I can't select the Netherlands???? I can't even see Germany on the list!

In my case I've bought Everything Everything's Man Alive,at HMV it was 32 quid and on the website was much much cheaper - almost 50% off!

Out Murphy Out please!

I take Blue Dolphin's point  - that the disc 2/DVD mystery pieces could be early versions that Mike decided to change before final recording -  but suspect that they were the bits that Mike either enjoyed most back in the day or during the Bahamian re-mixing.  Northumbrian and Piano Improvisaition are the rogue elements  which likely derail my argument.  The others ( I hope! ) speak for themselves - I guess that one of Mike, Pierre Moerlen and David Bedford made the observation that the pattern of side 4's vibes was a canon.

But another opportunity to connect with today's audience missed.  Bass Cannon for Two Vibraphones?  Now you're talking! :)

I've got three little bits of extra info from Universal, some of which I think you've figured out yourselves already...

The mystery tracks are selected remixed sections - so this time there's no full 5.1 mix, only the excerpts chosen by Mike.

The original artwork is included, on the back.

The mix on the vinyl is the new stereo mix.

That's all for now!

Is the signed edition just like the deluxe edition but only signed? because I don't see a reason to be spending a lot more money on just an autograph.

I'm so totally underwhelmed, no 5.1 mix and no original SQ mix.
Possibly the first MO album I won’t buy in over 30 years.

According to:
http://store.universal-music.co.uk/restofw....3346372

it says
Quote
Remastered by Oldfield himself, the packages contain a variety of rare material; and again, as with Tubular Bells, Hergest Ridge and Ommadawn, contain a brand new 5.1 mix on DVD, as well as footage from Oldfield’s 1979 concert tour that supported the album. Both CD formats also include ‘Guilty’, Oldfield’s legendary 1979 single recorded in New York City at the height of the disco movement. Few expected the man who crafted 25 minute sides of symphonic rock to hit the dancefloor with such élan.

Which implies a 5.1 mix, have we been told wrong or is this wrong?

SO the stereo mix is NOT a complete 2011 remix....Gutted...
I do like the original..but was sooo looking forward to  a new mix... like the three other releases.....
Wonder why.????
Also the DVD footage is the same as the exposed...??????
Surely there must be more UN released footage....
All seems a little knocked together,... easy option.....
Also I love the way that "Speak" and Froggy went a courting"
have been completely forgotten..I know Mike doesnt like them, and is a little embarrassed, but as these are really RE releases ,and being bought by fans who keep buying these new versions time and time again... i really think that that MO and universal, should look at the releases from a fans point of view and give them the lot....
I think this is a bad sign for future releases....

Methinks - I hope - that Universal are maybe holding material back for a Virgin-era boxset.

I'm getting more disillusioned with each day though. I consider Incantations in the same regard, importance and style as the first three albums. As such, Incantations really deserves a more in depth 'Ultimate Edition' with far more unreleased gems from the vaults. I suspect the fact that it's length as a double album means a 2CD release was never going to be enough, and Universal merited a multi CD 'Ultimate Edition' edition to the sole preserve of TB.

The entire reissue thing from 2009 has taken the proverbial, e.g. where is the high resolution 5.1 - no where to be seen. MI and Universal should take a look at the Pink Floyd reisses and hang thier head in shame.

Pink Floyd will sell bucketloads compared to MO - that's a given in Universal's opinion I suspect. Very few artists would get that magnificent overhaul of their catalogue.
Mike allbums deserve it, but ain't gettin' it anytime soon ...

I sure can't see any trace of a 5.1 mix of the entire album :(
