I wonder if this mix includes the 'missing bit' from part 4 that appeared on the Space Movie?

Those two illuminous objects might be hands.

Yes, that would fit in with Milamber's comment. The number of islands is indeterminate: they grade right down to tiny dots.

Nightspore - those two pink objects that you think might be a boat in two.

I will wait this time for deluxe edition available in other shops...

I will buy it in the HMV store like last time.

Finally!!!! My favourite Oldfield record next to Amarok. But is that "the new wave of reissues" we've been promised?

I posted this on the other thread, which will presumably be overlooked soon  :)

Are the First 5 tracks on Disc 2 outtakes, or just sections of Incantations that are remixed ? The track names obviously refer to sections of Incantations.
Delighted to see Pipe Tune get an airing - beautiful ...
I hope the original cover is reproduced elsewhere in the packaging, a la the HR reissues - the new cover is gorgeous, but I don't like re-imagining where it's not warranted - still it is stunning though, isn't it?

The new cover is stunning, even more because I hate the original. It was not bad as a concept, but a very bad result came out.

For the new one a frame from the tv ad would suit very well...

Just preordered the signed copy. The cover looks fantastic, and the track listing to go with the main feature seems very intriguing... VERY much looking forward to this one.

I wonder how "exclusive" the signed edition is? It doesn't say it anywhere in the shop.

edit: Never mind the last question, just noticed that the signed edition is limited to 500 copies.

Does this mean there isn't a full 5.1 mix of the whole album? Just five excerpts?

Hmmm if only I could afford any of them, never mind the signed edition. Having said that this is probably the most tempting re-release yet.

With the new "Express delivery", Mike will deliver personally to your home, regarding the price:

Yeah I noticed that too! I laughed and than wisely chose the standard delivery. ;)

Why have Universal changed all the art work of the reissues ?

When other artists have delux versions released they keep the original covers .

Strange thing to do as most people buying old albums like to see the art work they know .

So there won't be a 5.1 remix of the album itself? That's bummer number one.

Bummer number two? That you have to buy the vinyl version on its own, and have you seen the price of it? It's insane! For that price Mike should deliver it to me in person on my doorstep.

I pre-ordered the Signed edition and the Deluxe one, because, as far as I could understand from the website, the Signed edition is only vinyl and doesn't include the CD. Did I understand that wrongly? Well, if I did, I can still change my mind because I didn't check out - my authorization failed... :)

@ spark: maybe (and it's just a maybe from me) Universal were forced to change the covers because they don't own the copyright on them - Virgin owns it. Other artists still have their original covers on deluxe editions because the originals were issued by companies which are currently owned by Universal (e.g. Eric Clapton's Layla album was originally issued by Polydor, currently owned by Universal). They don't own EMI/Virgin - yet. :D Anyway, I agree with other people here that the new cover image is excellent and much better than the original. @ nightspore, I guess that the 'thing' at the horizon is a star, but I also guess that we'll get a clearer view of all the elements (including the two bright pink thingies) when we get the actual CD or vinyl into our hands. :)

Hergest Ridge cover got changed because Mike never liked it...maybe that's true for Incantations too.
