I bought Voyager on Thursday 19th September 1996. I remember that because it ties in with thinking Voyager is very apt for September. It's got that early autumn sound - like that moment of the year when I don't want to accept summer is over, but at the same time trying to face up to it - it's over and there's no going back. Beauty and the grief.

Other seasonal pieces: -

Hergest Ridge -  early spring
The Millennium Bell - late spring
QE2 - early summer
Five Miles Out - late summer
Voyager - early autumn
Ommadawn - late autumn
Incantations - winter ...

Maybe Mike was just trying to appeal to a wider female audience?  "Rambo"?  I can't see any guns/rocket-launchers etc. - I think he looks quite peaceful (maybe even doing some joga).
