When I was in a band (some 20yrs ago now), we made an instrumental (cos none of us could sing), demo tape with 12 tracks on.
Our music teacher at college came up with an idea for its title - us Brits are always talking about the weather, how it hot or cold it is etc. He came up with a theory that as the weather changes it actually affects us on a minute by minute basis, our attitude to that moment, the way we feel, the way we act etc.... as the weather moves, so does our mood, the weather is in our soul and in our bloodstream so he came up with an album title "Weather Veins", and then 12 seperate track titles relating to the "weather" mood of each track.
I cannot recall many of the track titles except for:
"Storm Force"
"Spring Rain"
"Heat Haze"
"The scream of falling leaves" (he was drunk when he came up with many titles like this as he thought Ents actually existed and felt pain when they shed their leaves) !!
"Forest breeze"
"Red Dawn"
"The sound of sunset"
etc.....

Does this give you any ideas for album threads?
keep your tongue out :p

"Storm Force"

What a cool and powerful title!  :D
I agree with you about the weather. I have always thought that weather has a very important influence on our everyday actions. It's amazing how a shiney and cloudless day could give us a very good mood

You should think what the atmosphere of song remind you. First just record, after think about the name ;)

It's true that a lot of songs are about the weather...
Very many songs use the word 'sun' and 'rain' and stuff...

A lot of my songs have that too... so that's why I like the titles you gave a lot  :)

don't take this bad way...but isn't it stupid comming up with a name without actually hearing the song?

now don't get me wrong...I just believe the name should be connected with the song...maybe with what it provokes in your when you're listening...

or maybe just what you felt while creating it...I have a track which is named just "Rage" ... but trust me, you'd not want to hear it...

anyway...try to learn how to come up with a name yourself...or atleast if you really have to let others name it...let them listen first...

I agree really. A track's name should have some kind of meaning, and asking someone else to define that meaning seems kinda... I dunno... like you didn't know what you were trying to convey with the music to begin with.

I know you can do this, I just think you have an episode of writers' block  :D

hahaha... yes, might be true indeed. Hope my 'title-writers-block' will pass soon  :)

I have no problems writing lyrics at the moment though...
But recently I started making also instrumentals, so I thought it's a bit harder to make titles for that.
But it's true I should do more of an effort maybe to think of them myself...  :/

Maybe to help you could concentrate on the ideas you had when writing it, the feelings you felt through the music... the images your saw in your head... the thoughts you had... use those as a basis for writing a title (and maybe further developing the track ) :)

A friend of mine coded a random song title generator.

http://nifflas.ni2.se/software/randomsongtitlegenerator/

Even if you dont find the song title of your choice, it might also give you a few giggles if anything :D

With one of the given titles (from Iksion) I made a complete lyric. It took a long time to get it finished, and I kept working on it because it was hard to get right. But I love that kind of hard work :)  It's like a puzzle...
But here it is  ;)

Sitting on the Hill…

Clouds have come my way
I feel the breeze
And now I see
A city in the rain

The night has come again
The stars won’t shine
But neon signs
Seem to fill the sky

-- A magical day
-- Might be on its way
-- A magical day
-- That will take away
-- all of the sadness and the rain...

Here comes another day
The clouded skies
My days go by
Sitting on the hill

Time is on my side
The moon, the trees
The stars I see
Reflected in the sea

-- A magical day
-- Might be on its way
-- A magical day
-- That will take away
-- all of the sadness and the rain
-- all of the sadness and the rain
