Hi everyone, I have a musical theory question relating to Tubular Bells Part 1, specifically the harmonizing guitars at [3:37].
The Song so far is alternating between 8:8 and 7:8, but the guitars at this point seem to be in 8:8. I'm finding it hard to tell if the background piano is keeping to the original 8:8 and 7:8 or if it's being modified to match the 8:8 timing of the guitar solo. Otherwise the guitars must be going out of sync with the main time signaure. Is this the case?

As far as I can hear, the time signature indeed changes to 8:8, and seems to stay 8:8 until 4:42. But I can't really figure out where the extra notes in the first 8:8 section are added.

Maybe it becomes clear by analysing the MIDI-files, accessible from on the main page of Tubular.net?
