My brother-in-law is Oldfield mad.. I would like to get him something special for his birthday. He has mentioned in the past, the 7" Oldfield single "Froggy went a courting".

Is this a rare single or not?, does anyone know of a decent site that would sell such mysterious records?
Cheers smile

Just about any 7" single can be considered rare. FWAC is listed at the Esprit site but its out of stock. You could try requesting it, but I also recommend that you try gemm.com

They list items from heaps of different retailers so there's a good chance it might be available there.

The song is also on the bootleg compilation CD 'Swollowed Up By A Big Fat Snake'. The 'label' calls itself Tartan Productions. No idea where you can get that one, though. I got it from a record fair (if that word exists...)

I've heard that "Swallowed up by a big fat snake" only has a poor quality version of FWAC.

I have an mp3 of it which is excellent quality (e-mail me if you want it), but I guess you asked about it because your in-law wants a geniune 7" copy as part of his collection (am I right?).

Hi!

There's a very rare version of Froggy Went A-Courting, where "The owls did hoot and the birds they sang" is sung by Mike Oldfield. (by the other version it's sung by Bridget St. John).
I would like to find this rare version too.
Can someone help me (mp3 or an internet address)?
I'm making now a Non-Official Complete Mike Oldfield, with all of Mike Oldfield's songs.

Thanks!

Scot
