I found a version of Flying Start with a minute or so long instrumental intro.   Im curious as to whether its one of Mike's compositions, or someone having a bit of fun.  Its good nevertheless, but doesnt really fit in with the actual song.

This is composed by Mike, and can be found on one of his singles. There are many more extended versions of his songs, like Islands, The time has come, Moonlight shadow, Shadow on the wall, Shine, Five Miles Out, Crime of Passion, To France, Don Alfonso, Pictures in the dark...

I think the extended versions are often the original songs, but they had to be shortened to fit on the LP. Compare to the extended version vs the movie version of Lord of the rings ;-) Please, correct me if I'm wrong.

Hm... what do you mean? I have an extended version of Five Miles Out (5:25) on mp3. Do you mean it's made by someone else? It sounds very genuine to me :-/ It's basically just some extra choruses, so it's nothing spectacular though =)

Haha! If that's the extended Five Miles Out I'm thinking of, I do indeed know where it came from, because it was me who made it :D

I did it as a joke a few years ago...I still think it's quite funny, especially now ;)
