Universal has released the details of the upcoming re-releases of Five Miles Out and Crises, scheduled for September 2nd 2013.

Five Miles Out will be available as:

A 2 CD + DVD Deluxe Edition, with highlights from the December 1982 concert at Cologne's Sporthalle on the second CD, and Mike's brand new 5.1 remix and two TV performances from the BBC TV show Six Fifty Five Special on the DVD.
A vinyl LP, in both standard and limited edition (transparent yellow vinyl, limited to 500 numbered copies) versions.

Crises will be available as:
A single CD, with a remaster of the original mix being joined by two new acoustic reworkings of Moonlight Shadow and Shadow on the Wall, a 2013 remix of Mistake, plus the Crime of Passion extended version, Jungle Gardenia and the 12" versions of Moonlight Shadow and Shadow on the Wall.
A 2 CD Deluxe Edition, with a second CD of highlights from the July 1983 anniversary concert at Wembley Arena.
A vinyl LP, again in both standard and limited edition (transparent green vinyl, 500 numbered copies) versions.
And, for the really big Crises fans out there, a 3 CD + 2 DVD boxed set, which includes the full Wembley concert on the second and third CDs, plus a 50 minute 'Crises at Wembley' DVD and a second DVD with Mike's 2013 5.1 remix of the album. It also contains a 32 page hard back book, with sleeve notes and an interview with Mike. You can see a picture of the whole thing here.

The new releases, including the limited edition LPs, are available to order from Universal. Non-limited edition items should be available from all good record stores!

Before I die and go to heaven....just checking...
HOW MUCH of the Wembley concert is on the DVD.
Is it the whole concert like the CD, or just the song Crises.???
PLEASE let it be the whole gig.....

As far as I'm aware, it's just Crises and Tubular Bells, something that was edited together as a film in the 80s, so I imagine it was the only footage available (certainly the usual story goes that the footage was unusable and completely discarded, so it's great that at least this has survived).

I'll settle for that...Thanks.
But the footage must be somewhere, or somebody must know what happens,
Perhaps all will be explained in the booklet.
Anyway nice see any of it, and to have the whole audio is good.
Cant wait !

At last the official notes about the forthcoming re-releases! Very interesting thing with the Wembley footage - must be great to see it! Mistake as a 2013 remix is also nice, and i'am very happy they incuded the extended remixes of Moonlight Shadow and Shadow On The Wall. In fact it seems that we will get all singles tracks from that era.

Yeah, but i think i will buy both Crises releases: Deluxe Edition to put it next of the other deluxe editions releases on the shelf and 30th Anniversary Edition to have additional 2 DVD's... this time it will be more expensive purchase...

It's good to have an unknown concert on the FMO deluxe although it's uncomplete. As I can remember the bootleg Cologne 1982 is a monitor mix from November 2nd.

Another highlight is "Six Fifty Five Special" BBC TV as it features the only live version of Mistake. That's really good.

Another surprise could be the demo of Five Miles Out. I wonder if it's different to the 1th mix "Utopia" Acetate version.

I'm not 100% satisfied with the Crises bos set:
- Mistake belongs to FMO also it was featured on the Canadian FMO LP

- Wembley concert is available in good quality since many years

- I'm disappointed that only Crises and TB Part 1 footage is included

- Finally I expected some demos.

But nevertheless it's quite a good package.

I understand that both CD 1 of these two new deluxes are Five miles out and Crises remastered...not remixed?
I don't have 5.1 equipment and would have loved 2013 stereo remixes of both these albums...

Well they did it with the Platinum deluxe edition, left off the original Sally track, now even with the 5 disc box set of Crises we don’t get ‘Rite of Man’. Another missed opportunity!
How odd.... :/

Mistake belongs to Crises because it it was featured on the Canadian CRISES LP not FMO. Believe me. I have them both.

They skipped all the most strange and odd tracks, Mike ever recorded. So we didin't got:

- Froggy Went A Courting
- Don Alfonso
- Sally
- Rite Of Man

Dont know why? Maybe Mike thinks that tracks sounds to strange, and maybe too silly to attach them to the releases?

I think, Mistake belongs to FMO era musically. It was released in 1982 as the single along with Waldberg (The Peak) which also comes from that era. It just sounds like FMO track, very simmilar to Family Men, with vocoder vocals and so on. Crises tracks has very different sounding, more open and space'y (Fairlight). I dont know why it appears on the Canadian Crises LP but, maybe it's just a bonus track to make the release more attractive.

I see a possible complete box set at the end of the re releases with one CD full of all the "odd ditties".

SPEAK !!!!

- Sally
- Rite Of Man

As far as I know, that's exactly it. Mike's very heavily involved with the whole process, and I know that Mark Powell and his colleagues are very thorough in their archival work (and certainly wouldn't overlook something as obvious as Rite of Man), so you can be fairly certain that omissions like that one are down to Mike not wanting it there.
