MSM without a doubt. Out of the shorter tracks I'd go for Song of the Sun

It may be one of Mike's weakest albums, but depending on my mood at the time I don't mind it. I don't think I can be in favour of Mike's late commercial albums and this one at the same time. It rather comes in phases

I voted for Dark Island, though I could have voted for Women Of Ireland, as well. Those two are easily my favourite tracks on the album.

mine, wild goose flaps its wings. that guitar's a big bird softly spreading wings and rising from the cliffs.
though mont st. michel is my second favourite in this album. i wish he made again a spanish guitar sound the way it sounds there. it is a timeless piece of music, so elegant and well done.

My favorite Voyager trek is the one where Neelix.... oops. Sorry..."track". I get it now.

Seriously, "Mont St Michel" is my favorite. The longer and more ambitious, the better.

Voted for Celtic Rain 'cause I play it. :) But I also play Women of Ireland, The Voyager and Flowers of the Forest. But, strictly musically speaking, my obvious fav on the album is Mont St. Michel. ;)

I voted Mont St Michel, however this thread "inspired" me to give Voyager another spin and I found I also like Wild Goose Flaps Its Wings quite a bit, and now I'd almost rather have voted for that one. By far the most "Oldfieldian" thing on the album (that, and the middle part of Mont St Michel).

I voted 'Wild goose flaps it wings' but the choice is tough as I like 'Mont St Michel', and 'song of the sun' I egually well. I just figured 'wild goose flaps it wings' would get the least votes of the 3.

Tough one this. I played Voyager this morning after a gap of over a year, and for me the album hasn't worn well. Yet there are two standout tracks:

1. Wild Goose Flaps its Wings - the guitar playing is beyond any words. Wonderfully evocative. I could easily have voted for this, and almost wish I had.
2. But in fact I voted for Mont St Michel (or as it might also be known 'Hergest Ridge Goes to Hollywood' ) because it gives me goose pimples every time I listen to it.

The only thing that worries me a bit about M St M is that it teeters on the brink of pastiche much of the time. Listen to Vaughan Williams's 'Wasps' and Malcolm Arnold's 'English Dances' and you'll see what I mean. I love Vaughan Williams and Malcolm Arnold... so that's OK by me - but I wouldn't like to have to defend M ST M as the most original piece of music by Mike Oldfield.......

A difficult one :O .  I voted for MSM, it builds to epic proportions.  Wild Goose Flaps It's Wings and Women Of Ireland come a close second  :) .

I'm going slightly mad,
It finally happened, I'm slightly mad , just very slightly mad

If you feel a little glum to Hergest Ridge you should come.

Which brought to mind a horrific combination of Oldfield and "Frankie Goes to Hollywood":

That's a hard question, I love both 'The Hero' and 'Flowers of The Forest' as my favorite songs, so far!

Both are incredibly majestic and soaring, uplifting songs, to me.

Wild Goose, moody and atmospheric.  :)
