"Nobody tosses a dwarf!" - Gimli

Oh yes! Along with "that still only counts as one" - Gimli, in response to Legolas's stunt on the mumakil.

Gotta love J.R.R. Tolkien for coming up with these!

Oh I hope you're joking. :/

It was either Peter Jackson, Fran Walsh or Philippa Boyens - or more likly a combination of all three.

For me favourite quotes pass like leaves in the wind, but this one's fairly durable:

As our circle of knowledge expands, so does the circumference of darkness surrounding it. - Albert Einstein

Louise Erdrich is one of my favorite authors, and inevitably, there are a few passages in her books that give me the sensation of being hit with a bucket of cold water. So much within her novels transcends any given context. This is from her latest, The Painted Drum, and comprises words that a mother might wish to impart to her child but doesn’t (in this case, to Faye, who lost a sister tragically in childhood and has a hard time letting people in). “Life will break you. Nobody can protect you from that, and living alone won’t either, for solitude will also break you with its yearning. You have to love. You have to feel. It is the reason you are here on earth. You are here to risk your heart. You are here to be swallowed up. And when it happens that you are broken, or betrayed, or left, or hurt, or death brushes near, let yourself sit by an apple tree and listen to the apples falling all around you in heaps, wasting their sweetness. Tell yourself that you tasted as many as you could.”

This was an excellent thread, thought I remembered where it was,

a few quotes I've come across...

To be free is nothing, to become free is he very heaven. (don't know who said these few, my apologies)

Only left-handed people are in their right mind.

Nature is the place where the birds fly around uncooked.

& lastly, T.S.Eliot said,  'the work of art lives by it's own radiance'

I'm really quite a simple musician, I can't name all the chords and play millions of scales but I really love and enjoy playing every note, even if it's just one chord I really feel it you see...

Those who don't drive just because they've lost their licence could be accused of being a goody two-shoes  :D
