Nice article appearing in The Messenger regarding the Oldfield Post Office and the Tubular Bells stamp:

"A TRAFFORD post office’s link to a music legend has created a stir in the stamp-collecting world. Oldfield Post Office has been contacted by philatelists from far and wide in the run-up to the launch of a set of 10 stamps of classic album covers – including pop star Mike Oldfield’s acclaimed Tubular Bells. Stamp enthusiasts from different parts of the country have asked Oldfield Post Office to stamp the classic album covers envelope on the day it is released." Read the complete story here.

Thanks, Ratty!

The stamps look great don't they?  I've bought some and I'm not even into stamp collecting! Other fans should take a look via the following link www.royalmail.com/albumcovers :/

How would someone in the USA get a hold of a set of those stamps?

You can purchase them in strips of 5 (£1.95 per strip, approx $3) from the Royal Mail - looks like they deliver to USA for £2.15 (approx $3.5). Try this link. If it doesn't work I'll try and describe the long sequence of clicks to get there from the front page!

Could anyone in England tell me what "1st" means on the stamp? Does it means "first"? If so, how much is it?

Thank you

;)

'1st' means first class post which costs 36p.This is supposed to be the fastest post in the UK although all post tends to be referred to as "Snail Mail"!

I do collect the presentation packs if they're ones of interest, I'll buy a set of these.
