Just out of curiosity I was wondering what the Age range of fans of Mike Oldfield on this forum are. I can imagine there are a lot of "older" (using that word very carefully) fans out there.

Myself I am 21. I started listening to Oldfield when i was about 17. I can thank my Dad for that. He is a big fan himself. He used to live in Germany (working for the Canadian Military), so he got introduced to Mike that way and passed it down to me.

How old is everyone else?

It's customary not to give one's age but one's playing speed

I didn't know Mike ever worked for the Canadian Military. Or was that the "Far Country"  :)

I imagine a 78 would be even more enticing to Scatterplot than a 33: better watch out, Kev. What colour vinyl are you?

Fans age range? :D

Gambit - I don't think you're going to get honest answers to that question, except from the young ones like yourself. I always assume that those who state their birthday in their profile generally knock off around 10 -20 years. ;)

We've got people from all different age ranges...from the youngest ones to the ones who have a few good miles(or kilometres) on their back  ;)

I used to ask my philosophy students: which would you rather be: a 20 year old with the mind and body of a sixty year old, or a sixty year old with the mind and body of a twenty year old? The correct answer, of course, is the second one. But that means physical age is irrelevant; with intense exercise and (dare I say it?) cosmetic procedures you can retain what you had until well into your sixties, or even beyond. There are martial arts masters in the sixties; you wouldn't want to get into an argument with them!

I am eighteen years old. I never really understand the discomfort people feel when saying their age. Everybody who is young and remains healthy will get old.

I should have left out the "range" part haha. That leaves it open for people to say they are 1-99 years old  :D
