That appears to be a MIDI guitar controller indeed. Works with strings, so not to be confused by strapped keyboards called keytars!

Yamaha had some models IIRC.

The auction is just for the keyboard, so you can't even make music with it, as you don't have the computer thingy + monitor?

Ian, it would only be a rip off if the seller didn't disclose that it wasn't playable.  The auction is for charity.  Many people donate that much money and expect nothing in return, other than the satisfaction of helping others in need.
