E.R.O.? Could be "English Rugby Organization". Speaking of sport, I like your rotating moon, Milamber. No doubt it reminds Cooper Roy of a baseball! :D

A mutual friend put me onto this thread. The reason being is that I have just written a track called 'We Are Home' as a sort of dedication to the North Star track I love.

We Are Home

The track isn't meant to sound like a Mike Oldfield track rather an electronic ambient piece but I'm sure there are influences in much of my music I listen to coming out.

But since re-listening to North Star I thought if it wasn't 'We Are Home' it might be 'We Are Whole'. But I totally agree 'eeeee ahhhhh ooooo' could be the correct interpretation. I'm gutted, after all these years!

Anyway I'm not changing the name of my track as 'Eeeee Ahhhh Ooooo' sounds silly! Might as well call it "Da Da Da" or "De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da". Who would name a song that anyway I ask you!

What? Someone did? Who? Trio and The Police!! You're kidding?

When you think about it, it's no worse than singing "la la" in a song. It's just that "la la" has been around for so long that we don't question it.

@ nightspore: if eeeeeee-aaaaaahhhhhh-oooooooohhhhh is no worse than la-la-la, then Karl Jenkins would only write la-la-las as lyrics for Adiemus. Insead he writes stuff like "Karu karema, karu karema, karu karema rumakara" So there must be a reason why he writes that, and why Philip Glass wrote something which could be  eeeeeeee-aaaaaaaaahhhhhh-oooooooooohhhhh, but it may just as well be "We are home". :D

Ugo, I wasn't saying that there's no difference between saying "la la" or "da doo ron ron" or whatever - obviously some musicians like the sound of certain made up words more than others - I'm just saying that there's no difference, morally, in doing so. If you go back to Quietman's post, he implies that social transgression is involved in making such sounds as "da doo da da" etc, but I for one am prepared to be lenient.

Ah, OK. As usual, I misunderstood you. Sorry. ;)

That example is such a perfect illustration of the word "pretentious"!
It doesn't mean anything, but the idea is to get the listener to think that it means something.

Or does "karu karema" mean something? Sounds like finish!
:/

Sounds Japo-Scandinavian to me, like the veal in Fawlty Towers!

@ Lars & Nightspore: Jenkins said that some of the invented Adiemus language is pseudo-Zulu, but it has no meaning in any African language. Indeed "Karu karema rumakara" sounds very African to me. :) And another Adiemus song's lyrics are "Eh, emakamaya, eh, emakahaya; amabi-eh, amadi-eh, amabi-eh, amadi-ah". And then it goes "Ah, kimanamawenamaratis". Quite elaborate. :D

I think it's just EEEEE AHHHH OOOHHH which is a basic 'warm up' excercise for vocalists.

So actually they should have recorded the track five minutes later?

I like to think that Glass heard the choir when they were "warming up" and then thought .. "wow that sounds really avant-garde . .I'll use it!" :D
