Caroline Monk posted to Mike's Facebook page on 22 March: "Mike just asked me to tell you all that Discovery and Killing Fields will be coming out soon and one of the disks and vinyl will be called " SUITE 1984 " and will be in 5.1."

Sounds like something Orwellian.  ;)

I'am curious if Discovery will be released together with The Killing Fields as one release (digipak), so we would get 2 remastered album discs + 3rd disc named Suite 1984? So this 3rd disc could contain selected or unpublished tracks from Discovery and TKF mixed in 5.1? I mean the facebook message is not clear enough, because it's not sure, what album this "Suite 1984" concerns - Discovery or TKF or maybe 2 of them mixed together on one disc? It seems, we need to wait for additional informations about the forthcoming releases.

I want to know how they've managed to fit 5.1 on to a vinyl disc :D

Yeah, that's quite interesting  :) Must change my old stereo record player to 5.1 to hear it. It must be some sort of hi-tec from the future. :)

The information is not clear enough. Can you ask Caroline for more details...?

Since we're talking about vinyls - any idea where you could get the vinyl of "Incantations" 2011...? It's really difficult to find. Was it so limited...?

I think they'll be released as 2 seperate albums. Makes more sense, no?

I guess they will be released as one package.

2CD + DVD

CD1: Discovery with regular bonus tracks
(In the Pool, Afghan and I hope also Pictures in the Dark, Legend and the Trap)

CD2: The Killing Fields (not much bonus material here)

DVD: including 5.1 mixes, promo vids and Suite 1984

The fact that Suite 1984 contains unreleased material from both Discovery and The Killing Fields makes it more likeable to combine both albums in one package.

Both albums will be available as a singular 1CD release too.

I was hoping Mike would substantially re-mix TKF into a suite of music. Its segmented nature for film prevents it having as much flow as his normal instrumental work, but his creativity on the album is outstanding. We missed a work of genius here. If it were judiciously edited and mixed, we could still have it.

These releases were "coming soon" on 22nd March, still not even a release date. Mike has obviously finished his bits as he is working on the next ones.

I guess it's all down to the record company then.

Yeah. It can't be played on old tin boxes, no matter what they are fitted with.
