I did I Google search on Kington and realised I kind of made a fool of myself there... a little one at least.

Interesting to read what Stonehenge "sounds like".

At first the thought of using a picture of Hergest Ridge on the Ommadawn cover felt kind of weird ... what would people think? But seriously it made a lot of sense what you wrote Caveman.

So what is your thought on the image on Hergest Ridge then?

And also I hate to tell you that the image of the ocean on Tubular Bells is from Australia... so I guess we have a long distance winner here!!

I will have to study the UK map a little, I willing to learn.

Maybe I should do a search for images from Hergest Ridge? Feel free to contact me if you have anything that might work.

Really? Is it the orginal cos that was done on a beach on the South Coast of England by Trevor Key.
Hergest Ridge should be Hergest Ridge itself.Same thing as Ommadawn.Although it was recorded at the Manor in Oxfordshire (very near  to where i live in fact)it was written in the Kington studio. That's the album Mike was talking about 'sounding' like Herefordshire.
You should come to England.Wonderfull place full of contrasts.

Just had a look and the ocean scene is not the original so mit's my turn to make a fool of myself!
A picture of some good hills and a load of sheep should get you in the ballpark for Hergest ridge.

Maybe I should clarify. I meant the image I am using on the back of Tubular Bells. The original I do not know where it is from.

I have been to England a couple of times. But I would love to go back and see more. Been to London and spent a few rainy weeks in Torquay in the 80s.

I love to watch the TV show "Grand Design" and on it you get to see some amazing placing in the UK.

My family come from Devon and live close to Torquay.I know what you mean about the rain. The Southwest has crappy weather and when it rains it really pours down.I was at Stonehenge for the summer solstice in 2008.It poured down for the whole night.Looks nice in pictures when the weather's good but really bleak in the rain.

Here is a second "non-stonehenge-version" for Ommadawn.

Looks rather nice in my humble opinion.

It is from Wales and that is pretty much all I know at this point. I have e-mailed the photographer and hope to get an answer soon.

Next thing is to start to coordinate all the shared info on the back covers and get the icons and symbols right. Then I will go over the tracks, length and credits and make them fit nicely. Still a long way to go but a lot of fun also.

;)

Hello Everybody!

If I remember correctly these DTS versions all come from "Boxed" (except Tubular Bells)?

Does anybody know if they all are in QS or SQ?

I want to get it right with all the icons and symbols on the back of these covers and will probably bug the h%ยค# out og you in the near future... ;)

I also have found several different logos for Quad and am not sure which one to use... some are better looking in my eyes but might be "the wrong" type of quad and so on.

Have a nice weekend!
Robert (might as well sign with my real name...)

Wow, the revised Ommadawn cover looks absolutely amazing! You should contact Mike for the re-release of Hergest Ridge and Ommadawn in April and get them to use your cover. Nice Tb cover too ^^

Wow... Thank You Opus 1!

That would be nice... but I am afraid that with my rate of progress we would not see those reissues in a looong time...

I am really looking forward to the new reissues as I really love those two albums.

I am sorry that it takes so long with these covers. It is hard to juggle work and family and everything... I have also been accepted at the university so I will start to study to become a teacher on tuesday...

I will try to squeeze some work in soon, promise...
Thanks for all your kind words!
