Quote (nightspore @ Sep. 13 2010, 22:18)
"The Australian/New Zealand sexual sense is somewhat milder than fuck but still quite coarse, certainly not for polite conversation. The sexual sense will often be understood, unless care is taken with the context to make the rummage sense clear. The US sports sense, so to speak of “rooting for the team” can cause amusement among Australians and New Zealanders. The past participle rooted is equivalent to fucked in the figurative sense of broken or tired, but rooting is only the direct verbal sense, it isn’t an all-purpose intensive like fucking"

Nightspore, after reading your definition - my suggestion to myself was a cup of tea and a lie down.   :O  :/

Take a trip in the air
To a nice Texas beach
A Jimbo to reach
A new territory
For an intimate story

"Ali goam par la mer" ??

Anyway, never mind about that - I've got more important things on my mind...

Like Syd and his plight ..lets keep this thing going, and no we don't want to hear about endings, no, we don't want to think like that, we need beginnings beginnings, so lets keep this going, and keep the home fires burning...  :D

We'd better watch out though - we don't wnt to do to anyone else what we did to Caveman. It's the Wiggles' 20th anniversary, by the way. They were performing on Sunrise the other day with Mental as Anything, and it was absolutely ridiculous. I fully expected "The Featherswords are getting bigger"!

I wonder if Ex member 892, aka Lucifer Sam, aka Syd, ever came back to this forum. If I'm not mistaken, legal matters hindered him from being an active member here. Eight years have passed and perhaps some water have floated under the bridge? :)

Doesn't sound like Syd returned to the forum, I wonder why he left the way he did?

I don't know, but I remember him also being a member of a couple of Syd Barrett groups that I used to frequent, one being "Jugband News" he used to go by the name "Lucifersam".
At the time he left, it was said he was going to jail!

Is that like UGAJ? (United Girls Against Jughead, for those who don't read Archie comics).

Haha...no! It's a pun on the Syd Barrett track "Jugband Blues".

BTW, the swedish translation of Archie ("Acke"), re-names Jughead as "Sopprot" (mushroom root), for no obvious reason.

What can you expect from a country that inflicted Abba on the world?   As the character is usually called "Jug" by his friends they should have used the name Kanna. The full name would be "Kanna Huvud", which unscrambles to "Hunk and Vau" (Vau? Ve vill ask ze qvestions!;)
