Hello everyone
I guess you all know the song called Blue Night (What a silly question, this is a Mike Oldfield forum!:D)
I heard somewhere that Mike wrote it specially for Maggie Reilly, but... why? It seems to be a love song about a girl who reads love stories and "fantasizes" (I don't know if I've written it well, I'm sorry) with a hero. What has it got to do with Maggie? If they didn't have an affair, why did he dedicate her a romantic song? Can anybody help me?

Mike when he wrote Blue Night thought about Maggie since the song has got a Moonlight Shadow spirit,so he wrote for her to sing only.

Am I the only one who sees "No Dream" as a dark sequel/other-look-at "Blue Night" ? The lyrics seem to fit.

Flash and gleam among the oak-trees,
Laugh and leap into the valley."

Am I the only one thinking that Maggie's own "Every Time We Touch" is a bit similiar to Blue Night/Man in the Rain/Moonlight Shadow/Crime of Passion?
I've talked to people who were convinced that Mike wrote "Every Tim We Touch"!

I´m not sure, but I remember it as it was maggies first single after the break with MO....I think the producers went out of their way to make it like a MO sound number.....I think they  very careful tried to make the association with MO so the record could be sold - a rip off I you would.   ;)

agree..
I don't find Every time we touch similiar to (moonlight shadows, blue light, crime of passion ect..)

I have the albums of Maggie, but when i hear her songs it is strange.. because i feel that Mike is missing..

Anyone else on this feeling?  :)

I recommend Maggie's best of album. It has all the tracks mentioned and many more. Plus, it has Family Man and Moonlight Shadow and I'm sure nobody on this board heard these two before. ;)

Sadly, either her taste or her producers' is REALLY saccharine. Most of her solo songs are so sweet they make me want to eat fish with lemon and chili peppers. I had two of her solo albums and couldn't play any of them longer than 20 minutes. The compilation, though, is very nice.

Hahahaha looks like it's the before / after of a relationship!!!! Third part would be 'The Year Zero'???

I don't think Maggie Reilly's release is a low profile one... she was arguably one of the two best singers to sing with Mike, and her soft voice is known by absolutely everybody!!!!!
