This is the perfect album to do a poll for, ten tracks, and it gets people talking about a relatively 'forgotten' album :)

My personal favourite at the moment is 'Four winds'

My friend Jack (a fab guitarist, btw), who is very into metal, really likes this one.

So, which??  :)

Summit Day... I can just see the landscape around Mike as he stands at the top of a Mountain staring at all the beauty around him.

Basically Enigmatism but all the others would get 10 (or 11) out of 10 from me. ;)

I have never forgotten Guitars.
I voted for Summit Day. people here have recently been discussing images related to Mikes music(in Alans great thread)and Summit Day for me is one of those songs that makes me see things in my mind, mostly open spaced b-e-a-utiful landscapes. :)

Is it true that B Blues is inspired by BB King? Quite unOldfieldian, dont you think? But still I almost voted for it.

Yes I believe it is, according to one of the articles written upon him, where he comments himself. He takes you track-by-track through each of them and categorically says that this was inspired by BB.

Then I'm supposing you didn't vote  :p

I find that when listening, the tracks are pretty level in quality and enjoyment, all at a high standard  :)

Four winds got my vote because I like the idea, and the way that it changes so quickly, like Amarok

I like this poll because it made me get the CD off the shelf and dust it off.  I admit this is one that I have never really listened to - just didn't do anything for me.

BUT!!!

Listening to it this time around has changed my opinion.  There are several really nice songs but Summit Day is my favorite - it has that trademark MO sound that endears him to me.

Toss up between Cochise, Out of Mind, and the first 2 songs in Four Winds. I think I'll choose Out of Mind. It's such a fun crazy song! :) Second to those would be Summit Day. Beautiful song. I don't see what all the fuss is about for Embers. I didn't really like it at all.

My fave is Summit Day, closely followed by Four Winds and Embers.  I wish i had a classical guitar so i could replicate the beautiful sound of Summit Day.  I just have a normal steel string acoustic so it doesn't sound the same.

Agreed on both accounts :)

Glad I got someone to do some dusting.

Must be off now, several coursework assignments (they really do suck) :( :( :(

I've never really understood why people use the word "suck" to indicate something bad. Anything that I can think of which involves a light suction should be quite pleasureful.

Anyways...

Thanks to arron, ive now got guitars, thank you so much again! its an amazing album and at the minute my vote was a toss of a coin between out of mind and muse!, i ended up going for out of mind because i think its a great acheivement considering only guitars were used for drum sequences etc.!

thank you arron fo letting me hear an amazing album!!!
