Patrick Hernandez - Born To Be Alive
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H12wNmn87KM

Madonna was one of his dancers.

This is the example used in French text books about how to make a one hit wonder.

I'm giving this video a must see rating.

@ The Big BellEnd: as this question was asked to me, in here, I ask it to you: since when is Myléne Farmer "dance"? I used to think of her as pop with a slight rock edge. OK, this is a remix, but IMHO even the original version of this piece has little to do with dance. I agree, however, about the video: madame Farmer always conceived her videos as short but fully developed films, and this is no exception.

She has dancers on stage during her concerts. Rock artists put more focus on the instruments. Her tunes get dozens of remixes (one could argue that if you get a remix it's not originally dance). I put some of her tunes in my dance library, some in pop, none in rock. So more pop with dance edge to me.

Original version, dance remix version or danceable version.
Who care's?.
Forerver Autumn. Taken from the second remix album of Jeff Waynes musical version of The War Of The Worlds.
The first full remix album having reached No 1 on itunes,
I dare say covering all genre's.
Do enjoy, you can even dance if you like.

Drum and Bass -

A favourite in clubs still - for the PHAT bass during latter section. YouTube doesn't do it credit.

Thank God it did'nt survive.

:p :p But a "Hot Tracks Remix", which mashed up both tracks (Erasure's and Gloria Gaynor's), also exists. :D

I'm going to see Faithless at Manchester Evening News Arena on Saturday 4 December  ...

Faithless - "Insomnia" (Monster Mix) is one of the best dance anthems. This version has got a particularly cool intro.

"Insomnia" (Moody Mix) - is interesting.

Hi Wiga

I'm going nuts on Hybrid's - Original Sin... it does kinda remind me of Faithless's Insomia in a way. Great kick ass track.

I saw them at v festival a few years ago.

I've put this in the wrong thread, oops.
Also I don't intend for my selections to double up every time , they just do?

Erasure is awesome. I'm surprised at how many of their songs I remember from my childhood: Always, Oh L'amour and I Love to Hate You were pretty much "conserved" in my head after all these years.
