Sometimes, while playing the game, or roaming around, you can encounter particularly strange or beautiful views that have no particular significance except that they astonish, thrill, or delight you. I suspect that, for many of us, events and views like these are the main reasons why we go on playing the game, in the hope of seeing more.

So the pictures in this thread are here not because they have some special purpose in the game, but just because of the pleasure they bring.

Here for example, is the daliphant in the evening - the kind of view that for years has made some of us long to be able to get there.

Sometimes the sky can take unusual colours, producing beautiful effects like this, with the volcano seen against a reddening sky.

Sometimes just an unusual viewpoint produces lovely effects. Here, the column of sparkling smoke rising from the scorpion's ring is seen behind the ring tree.

Sometimes, out beyond the barriers, the sea is totally calm, and everything seems completely peaceful.

Some of the loveliest views are in the 'unofficial' worlds - like Snowy Owl's World, where the deep blue starlit sky, and the moonlight, make familar objects look strangely unfamiliar.

A nice view near the tower that transports you to the canyon.
