Well, I found a note in my old MVR folder that says

PORTS-
4662 TCP
4672 UDP
4711 TCP

now if only I can remember how to set that up on my cable router!

The answer is 42 - but what is the question?

OK - anyone still around want to try my IP again?

I think I set up the port forwarding correctly, fingers crossed for good luck

Oh sorry sorry sorry!!! It's because of my router that you couldn`t connect then... It's a new one and my laptop is also new.. so everything's new now, lots of homework to do like you said :D
I quit the firewall and thought that was all I had to do, but I'll have a look at the site and change my ip.

I have seen that I haven't lost my skills, I've been getting rings and also wandering around just for the sake of flying the firebeing :) though there are many little things that feel like completely new... It's been fun and very pleasant to be there again. Shame we couldn't meet this time!!

We can try again at the weekend if you want and see if it works.

I've been reading what Alan wrote in case of problems to connect.
I'll see if I can change my router's configuration and try again.

Cu soon and thanks for trying to join :)

Maybe some day we could arrange an online game? It will be nice to visit the daliphant again.

Matt has just let me know of your reappearance here, Maria. What a very, very welcome sight. My goodness, it's been so long. But I'm certainly up for an online game.

From the posts in this thread it sounds as if no one has had any success yet. I'll be happy to try hosting a game if that would help - I still have my old set up, unchanged, so it ought to work (I hope) without problems. I'm pretty tied up this weekend, but should be free by Tuesday. What would be a good day for you, Maria? Andy? Matt? Everyone?

Later: I've been checking my router - as far as I can see it's still set up exactly as it was when I last played MVR online, so I can't see any reason why it wouldn't work now. I've also been trying to discover if I can still perform our little barrier-defeating tricks, with some success. Firebeings World is still easy to do, and Swords World too - so I've had two trips out to the daliphant, one on a breezy day (Swords), and the other at night (Firebeings). Still seems as beautiful as ever. I think the game ages gracefully.

Hola Alan, I'm very happy to read you!

I've been disconnected for very long... Oldfieldwise, there are moments when I need to leave for a while. One day not long ago, we had some spring days on the island and that's a moment for tr3s lunas... I played the cd in my car and while listening to it under that bright blue sky, felt like trying tr3s lunas on my new laptop... and here I am :)

I've only played a couple of times this week, plus the day we tried to get online - it was really great to be there again..  I've visited many places, the snow cave, the canyon, the dolphins, underwater castle, the space (and got lost), but didn't try to cross the barriers yet, though at some point I ended up glued onto a sticky one in the main area :D
I'll look up the guide (what a good idea you had...now I do see how useful the MVR guide is...)

Tuesday is a good day for me, I could be online from 19.30 cet.

(The other day, while wandering around, I thought that maybe it still hides places that we haven't seen, don't you think that there may be some other "holy bugs"? Ok, maybe it's just my hope... Anyway, for what I felt these days, I guess going back to the old ones will be very exciting as well.)

Cu on Tuesday?

Me too. I've had some good adventures in these last few years, but I've hardly listened to any Mike Oldfield at all during that time.
(Mozart is a different matter! )

I've forgotten many of the things we used to take for granted - 19.30 for you is 18.30 for me - is that right? I don't think I can manage quite so early - so how about 20.00 for you - (that is, 19.00 for me)? Let's meet here first and I'll post my IP.

Very likely, though we did try very very hard when we were going at it hammer and tongs in the old days. I don't think I have the stamina for such exhaustive searching, now! But then again, the big breakthroughs nearly all came by accident, didn't they?

Cu on Tuesday?

Yes. If there's a problem in the meantime, I'll post here about it.

I see Andy's on holiday. That's a shame. (I mean for us, not for him! ) I wonder if Andreas ever looks in here these days? Or Gary? ThinMan? And the others?

Ah - I've found Gary's address and have sent him an email. I don't think I have anyone else's.
