Note to all you Aussie fans of Mikey Boy out there, has anyone else noticed the new Tubular Style logo that the Australian Broadcasting Corporation has adopted for its TV Adverts? Pretty cool eh?

The new "fluid" animation always has me thinking of the Bell. They've been using it since the start of the Millennium. First time, really, the ABC's done that with their logo (the resemblance). They like using TB as background music in things like Four Corners too, I think. A few months ago, when TB was the only Mike I knew other than Blue Peter, I'm convinced I heard the opening theme (it might have been Sentinel though). Something about Internet companies.

For Western Australians now, about the election result (Labor won, so Geoff Gallop's the new Premier-elect), how about this:

It's about Richard Court, the out-going Premier:

And the man in the rain
Picked up his failed cabinet
And journeyed up the countryside
Far away from the city
And nothing was ever heard from him again
Except for the sound
Of those flipping Swan Bells biggrin

Hehehe

LOL! Great one Tim!

That stupid bell tower would only have had my support if it was a tubular bell tower.

I too noticed that the new ABC logo looks like a tubular bell, and I think I read on this site once about the use of Sentinel that you mentioned.

That's the only sort of belltower anyone would want. Maybe Geoff Gallop can slightly distort this one wink.

I wonder if the bellringers can be bribed to play the Bell? Or long-thin-metallic-hanging-tubes? Or Far Above the Clouds? Or at least SOMETHING!!!!!!

A waste of money, in my opinion.

Of course I mean the belltower's a waste of money, not the bribery if they play Mike's work on the Bells. But they're not even tubular, they're the Bells of flipping St Martin's. They're church bells- they can play the bit at the end of Far Above the Clouds!!!

Since Tim brought up the topic of bell towers, I suppose that I should point out that the Society for Bigger and Better Bell-towers (current membership: zero +/- 2) has a web page.

Personally, I think that the bell-ringers should have played the TB ending theme for the millenenenenium.

The only unfortunate thing about this election is that Mr Court has _not_ picked up his cabinet of ministers and ran away with his tail between his legs wink

Thank you, Cameron, for that blatant endorsement of my web page wink. It'll be updated soon with more pornhipe-related material.

My personal choice for the "end of millennium" bells would be Far Above the Clouds, but only if you had the screaming guitar with it as well, the power provided by these two instruments, plus the African drums and super-charged bass, would really make people realise something was happenning.

Of course, we can all live in hope that next year the Belltower will be blown up in the Skyworks wink.

Just a quick note:

Richard Court is expected to resign from Parliament today. So the words should go:

And the man in the (d)rain
Picked up his bag of policies
And journeyed...

Or bag of something related to politics.

Tim must eat his words. Richard Court announced he would not retire. Sorry for that. So the man in the (d)rain is still with us. And those flipping Swan Bells.

I just put "The Millennium Bell" on, and it made me remeber something ABC related.

The three notes at the start of "Peace on Earth" are the same as the famous ABC tune!

I noticed that the first time I heard it.

Peace on Earth = ABC. Oh my word! I never noticed that before. I cannot believe it. Thanks rosko!
