i notice many users here aren't big on blues but i am and i can't for the life of me understand why No Dream was never released as a single. perhaps it got lost in the stampede to the exit?

It certainly has intriguing lyrics, particularly:

There's a face at the window
Someone who you know
Or who you used to be
Could that somebody be me?

I found myself thinking of the man in Maestro who has a stained glass window for his left eye (the same stained glass as in the portals).

Most deafenitely my favourite of the vocal songs. I like them all, but No Dream is indeed good enough to be a big hit. Mysterious lyrics, good melody.

well, nightspore and piltdownboy - why isn't it!? perhaps too raw? perhaps m.o. was leery of letting what was a rare glimpse into his soul go into broad circulation? right from that first wahwah, it's got great technical balance. his voice is much better than he would give himself credit for.

it's not too late, MO (or, as some people call him, gordon mikefield[?] etc)

Listened to the album yesterday, because a friend of mine said he just discovered Music from the Balcony.
Gave me the feeling I really wanted to hear the track again.
At a lot of moments you need to be near the volume knob, though...
