There are some words in Amarok, like
"Tsum-pay-dah" or "Oddum". Does anybody know what they mean?

The first question has been answered. It's "son/de/la" (check that topic in this forum).

The following may be a mere coincidence, but who knows.
There is a fantasy trilogy "Gormenghast" by Mervyn Peake. It was published in 1946, 1950 and 1959. It has become a classic.
Here is the ending of Chapter 71 of Book 3:

"Happy? Happy? Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha. The owls are on their way from Gormenghast. Ha, ha, ha! The ravenous owls...the owls...the little owls."

I thought Mike was just playing around with his sampler which must have been very cutting edge at the time. The same goes to the 'udda' sample in the 1st mad bit section

I think the bit where it sounds like a funny monster is being bashed lots of times (42:07) reminds me of a 3d shooter like doom because the backing on the guitar and the pitch bended keyboard is like the style of music in it, add the sound effects and voila. That's another coincidence (as doom of course wasn't made back then)
