Tony Palmer's All You Need Is Love documentary covering the history of popular music is soon to be available to buy as individual DVDs. Previously available as part of a box set, the "Imagine - New Directions" volume featuring interviews with Mike Oldfield is available for pre-order from voiceprint and Amazon.co.uk.

Thanks, Yanouch65

In fact, it is already available. I ordered it one week ago and I received it a couple of days after...
The quality of the interview is not perfect, but I am pleased to have it in DVD

I would like to thank "manintherain" for telling me that it was available singly now

Interesting.

How much Mike Oldfield interview goodness do you get for your money? (I see the DVD also features the ELO and Tangerine Dream whom I like, but my primary interest is in the Oldfield stuff so I probably wouldn't buy it if it's only a fleeting glimpse.)

I already got the whole DVD set of "All you need is love" about a year ago or so. But it's great to order the seperate ones if you're not interested in the other documentries, although I do recommend them! Tony Palmer covers the whole rock / jazz / progressive music from that period, and there is a lot of rare material in it!

I bought the whole thing last year as well. Not sure i'd have just bought the individual ones although my prime motivation for buying was obviously The Making Of Ommadawn bit at the end. There's lots of goodies in there about other people (and it must be said some absolute crap.Keith Moon trying to sing on the most godawfull song ever!)so as a whole it hangs together well.Must get the Ginger Baker In Africa DVD that Voiceprint have re-issued.Although he isn't interviewed there's some fascinating stuff with him playing. Some with Baker-Gurvitz army and some other stuff in Africa.

I just received the DVD. Excellent - it's great to see the 'Ommadawn' clips in much better quality. The rest of the programme is good too, with a nice (short) clip of Tangerine Dream in Coventry Cathederal. There is also a bonus DVD with an 'Introduction' to the full series, I'm not sure if this is just the first episode though.
