Do you think that the song 'Crises' totally express what we see in the picture of the cover?
Please answer, I'd like to know if I am the only person who has ever thought about that.

Actually, I also think so. :) "Crises" (both the song and the album) gives me night-time visions in general, and the album cover matches that really well.

To me, too. I actually wonder if it was an inspiring painting for Mike or only a later associated one.

I think that Mike thought that picture as we all can, if we listen to 'Crises'.
That sadeness feeling, that olive green sky, that alone watcher, that tower and the huge moon over it... all is in the song, no doubt about that.

Oh yes, I agree entirely. It totally matches the images I get when listening to the title track. For this reason, it is perhaps my favourite cover of Mikes. That, and I just love the painting.

No, I didn't know that. Are you able to get a scan or photo of the programme?

It's true, raven4x4x. I looked for it in google I found the blue Crises cover. But it's a kind of blue that is almost green (like turquoise), so you doesn't realize very much the diference.

I've always been fascinated as to what the tower on the cover would look like if viewed from above. It has a very precise, intricate shape - not just a rectangular block. Any architects out there able to offer an opinion?

It wouldn't surprise me if the block was Tubular Bell shaped from above.

:p

Just kidding, it doesn't look that way, but it could or should have been.
Because the seeshore is a recurring image on some Oldfield sleeves.

Interestic topic: also one of my favourite Oldfield covers.

On the back sleeve the text lay-out has a nuclear cloud shape.
It puts the entire title track in the cold war context, if you ask me.
Hence the videoclip of Shadow On The Wall.
