I just noticed this on the web.

https://you.38degrees.org.uk/petitio....ldfield

On the one hand it would be great if he got one, but on the other it would mean he was in the same category as a lot of undeserving jerks...

I totally agree with this, it would be about time too. I could be wrong but I don't think he has any honours? He has been an incredible composer and musician over the years.

Over the years, exactly.

I don't know if this is called an honour, but on March 17th 1982 he recieved the Freedom of the City of London!

Yes, his talent and rich and excellent work deserve great honours (if honours mean something).

Yes, I knew about that. You can read more about it here:

I wonder what that freedom really means... eg, if you parked on one of those world-famous double yellow lines, would you be exempt from a fine?

Our boy answers!

BBC 6.55 Special, M O interview and Mistake 1982

Doesn't sound like a great honour.

So permission to drive sheep across London Bridge... It would be amusing if that applied to extant bridges, and the ruling hasn't been revoked: you could have some fun with livestock at rush hour, as if Prime Minister May doesn't have enough problems...
