Here is some media coverage about the landmark album's 50th, it is interesting in that it includes a brief interview with the director of the BBC 2nd House performance, I have never heard from him before.

With less than two months to go there doesn't seem to be much happening to celebrate this album's milestone, I am hoping for some new interviews with Mike soon.

This is probably the nearest thing we'll get and it should be great!

Yes, I think it's great Rob Reed is keeping Mike's music alive.

Why should Reed do this? As far as is known, Mike Oldfield is still alive and well, and if he cares about his music he should get off his butt and look after it himself!

The latest blurb for the album said Mike retired 7 years ago, Hence the snippet of TB4.

Least its RR and not the Doodletown Pipers!!

I was taken aback when it said he had retired in 2018, feel like this should have been more common knowledge.  What a shame he cancelled Tubular Bells 4.

I was also taken aback, I was hoping all this time that he was hard at work making new music, but it seems not :/ I just find it hard to believe that he could stop making music, I have a feeling he has stopped releasing new albums through a record company, he has the ability to
release music just digitally if he wants to. Mike has been known for chancing his mind about things over the years, so this might all change. I hope he goes back to the deluxe releases though.

I am glad we are getting the TB4 and the Olympics music, which I think is stunning, he does have lots of unreleased music that he could do something with too.
