It's on the album?

Where can I find this u-myx program? I'd like to remix some light and shade myself.

It's on Light [CD 1 of L+S]. You can remix "Quicksilver", "Slipstream", "Our Father" and "Angélique" with it. Unfortunately, other tracks from L+S aren't included on the disc in the U-MYX format.

EDIT: Of course it's on the physical CD as it is contained within a CD-ROM track. If you bought the album as a download, of course you can't have U-MYX. :D

Yes. Upload it somewhere, please. (Soundcloud?) I have a feeling that you did much better than me. :)

I've uploaded it to soundcloud. The only problem is that my cd was not working properly so you hear these glitches  :(

@ HR lover: Very nice, especially at the start where there's only Mike's pink Strat. When the bass comes in it's great.

The "glitches" are not the CD's fault. The PC's main processor chip is to be blamed. I also have a couple of slight glitches on my own remixes. This is because most chips (event the most advanced ones, such as the Intel Core 3.5 on my Windows 7 laptop) can't properly comply with the amount of audio data coming out of U-MYX - this causes the glitches. I guess it's a problem of the software itself. Anyway, for best results, don't work off the CD. Copy everything (the program and the tracks) from the CD onto your hard disk, and work from there.

EDIT: On second thoughts, I may well re-do this myself. @ HR lover: could you please send me a screenshot of the final U-MYX layout of your remix, with all the sections you kept in and the ones you pulled out? This way I can do the same thing on my own PC.

Maybe we need a dedicated Umyx section for this.
Unless their is one already.
I can already see a new Award category here  :)

@ HR lover/Leon: the poem is "East Coker" from T.S. Eliot's Four Quartets (I studied it at university, can't miss it - I like T.S.E. a lot). Regarding my mix of "Our Father", it's pretty much the same as yours - there are some slight differences in the volume levels as I couldn't reproduce properly everything that you did with them. However, of course, the link above is your original mix, so any further comment from me is pointless. :)
If you wish to listen to my mix of "Quicksilver", well, it's on the Tubular.net album. If you wish I can send it to you as a separate file.

Good work Ugo, but Bee was there before. So you get NOTHING!

:p    I also made an Angelique U-MYX.  Now it's much more personal. I also took a lot of the commercialization out of it. The drums and bass now have a subservient role and of course, I gave the guitar a much bigger part. I realise now just how incredible that guitar part is.

Here's the link:

Well, you should've removed the Eliot quote from your sig after someone guessed it. I saw it only when you first posted about U-MYX. :D

Re. Angélique, I think the bass riff is much better than the guitar part. But who am I to judge? :)

Just for your info... someone on Hot UK Deals has posted a link to the album as a 'freebie'.

Don't go there and start spamming the thread because the moderators will (a) delete your account and (b) probably remove the thread... but if you want to keep it 'hot' there's nothing stopping you going there and adding heat (of course, that's only if you like it!;).

Full link:

Cheers,
Terry.
