Isn't the new album supposed to be based around Halloween?  'Music of the Sphere's' as a title doesn't really conjure up anything Halloweenish to my mind. Still this is Mike we're talking about here so the albums direction has probably long since gone off at a tangent.

I suppose "Music Of The Pumpkins" doesn't quite have the same ring to it...  :p

Something different: I really was excited about the first photo in the article. I've never seen it before! It's probably made before or after Mike's Exegesis est. You can see he already cut his long hair, but still hadn't shaven his beard. He's standing in his Througham studio, probably making or finishing of Incantations?

I've never seen that picture before either. The first time I saw Mike with cropped hair and no beard was in June 1978 after the Exegesis seminar. This is at Througham sometime before and could even have been taken in 1977. There are few pictures of Mike during this period so it is a rare one.

I'd go for "Classic". Classic Mike Oldfield.

If it's about Haloween, why not entitle it after on of the original names. According to Wikipedia the festival is also known as Samhain or Oíche Shamhna to the Irish, Samhuin in Scottish Gaelic, Calan Gaeaf to the Welsh, Allantide to the Cornish and Hop-tu-Naa to the Manx. Halloween is also called Pooky Night in some parts of Ireland, presumably named after the púca, a mischievous spirit.

I quite like Allantide or Samhain, but please don't call it Pooky Night Mike!!!!

I prefer a name that sounds "classical music" to me.

Like 'Opus 1'? ;) Or 'Halloween Concertos in D-minor'?

He really should as Karl Jenkins for advice. He once wrote a piece called "Huffin" and followed it with a piece called "Puffin". And he relased an album called "Land of Cockayne"! He knows how to pick names.  :)

As Juliet once said to Romeo "that which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet."
