yeah, it's appear on pre-order on some online market. If the rereleases will be on a month practically, I don't know why we don't have the official announcement still...

This just added on the Official Mike Oldfield Information Service web site:

"In addition to Mike recently announcing he is working on the "project of a lifetime" (more news will follow shortly), Platinum and QE2 Deluxe editions have been announced in Switzerland. Further information to follow as soon as it is available."

Fingers crossed!!

Thanks manintherain - is this a confirmed tracklisting for Platinum (DeLuxe Edition)?   If you're right and the orginal version of "Sally" and "All Right Now" have been omitted then I for one will be disappointed!

Regarding Platinum Deluxe, yes this is a confirmed track list.

What do I think? Well, I think this is not too bad. A couple of different versions and presumably some live tracks. But I also think they could have done a lot better. I´m missing Sally and Alright Now and I'm not sure whether or not the different version of I Got Rythm from Mike Oldfield's Wonderland is featured on this edition.

:/

I have no information on QE2 Deluxe though.

I agree entirely!   Looks like "Guilty - TB Part 1 Finale" could be from the Knebworth concert. which is a great version /  recording (it's on YouTube).   Intrigued as to what the "Platinum Live Studio Session" might be.

Sure, some goodies here but surely the original "Sally" and "All Right Now" could hve been included...or have the masters gone missing? :/

This looks just great. I hope that the "live studio session" is outtakes from the recording of the title track. I love stuff like that.

Platinum Deluxe

CD2:
1. Platinum
2. Punkadiddle
3. I've Got Rhythm
4. Polka
5. Incantations
6. Tubular Bells Part Two
7. Guilty - Tubular Bells Part 1/Finale
8. Blue Peter - Portsmouth
9. William Tell

This is the set list from the 1980 tour  (except for Ommadawn - should be #5 and TB - should be #8). Whether video or not I'm pleased with it.
I've never heard William Tell was played live except for the 1981 tour.

But I'm really surprised Sally is missing as it was reported Mike liked the original side 2 of Platinum very much and was quite upset when Branson banished Sally.

The QE2 edition is very poor :-(

So I'm excited to have the re-issues but seeing the William Tell track makes me wonder what happened to the Take 4 tracks in the scheme of things?
Guess they fall into a no-mans land.

The answer is 42 - but what is the question?

The official word from those working on the project is that they're still finalising the details, which seems to rather contradict the fact it's already available to pre-order (complete with track listings and release dates) in some places.

From our point of view, we're hoping to get their version of the details soon - we'll be sure to announce it as soon as we do!

I think I can also say, for those disappointed with QE2, that I've seen a non-official track listing for the Deluxe Edition and it does include more material than is listed here.

For absolute confirmation on tracks like Sally, I think we'll have to just wait and see...

From QE2 to Earth Moving, ths was the most productive time in Mike's history.

At some point there's got to be edit room floor cuttings to be found. Tracks that that didnt make the albums such as "ready mix". Here's hoping

Overnight, Amazon UK have added listings, indicating a release date of 23rd July.   Formats include 1-Disc CD, 2- Disc DeLuxe Edition and Vinyl for both Platinum and QE2.   They haven't as yet posted any track details for either title.

Mike's Official site has just posted details of the forthcoming releases with track information.   Interesting to note that the live content on Platinum Deluxe seems to be drawn from Wembley Arena 1980.   And no original "Sally" nor "All Right Now" (sigh!;).

I mentioned this on the Platinum thread but I'll put it here too as it's pertinent (maybe). The single disc version of Platinum has "Sally" in the track listing but on the deluxe edition it says "Into Wonderland."

Given that the single-disc version is the 2000 remaster, I'm assuming that Universal haven't put "Sally" on the single-disc edition only…

It's a shame that they weren't able to release an Exposed boxset of all the recorded concerts, but that was perhaps a little hopeful  :)

They should offer download only versions. It's quite cheap for them and could make some money. I don't need a CD anymore.

8 min long version of North Star has my attention and sounds interesting as does the new version of Sheba. Hope they keep the flavour of the original recordings though aren't too laden with modern effects.
