I'd travel to Germany alone if I had too,  the thing that worries me about this is I don't think my German is very good.

being english yourself, i think u shouldnt worry about the language. german people, for what i know, deal very very well with english generally. i am sure u will manage :)

if u go to cologne, let us know moonchildhippy, we will be there for both the 15th and 16th concerts.

cu?

I am going to order tickets for both Frankfurt concerts tomorrow. Thanks for the information about standing tickets being closer to the stage. Anyone want to meet up before the concerts? It would be good to get a group of people together  :D

I'm going to attend the Frankfurt concerts  :)

I will ask if I can get time off work, and if soget my tickets today. It would be great to meet up Tati. Are you from Hermany or will you also be travelling from abroad?  :)

Is anyone from the UK going. Haven't heard anymore from my friend about going to Dortmund.
The onlything is now I have to wait until payday 2 weeks away to buy my tickets, didn't get as many hours work last month, so my pay was rather lousy :( .  Hang on a mo it's my birthday in just under a month, have to drop some hints to friends and family.

Maria I'll let you know if I do go to Cologne, if so I'd like to meet you there :D.

Hot news from Oldfield.de...

In the NOTP forum, one of the creators of the concert posted this very interesting note:

Quote
Dear friends of NotP in Germany,
we are very proud to be able to present you some wonderful artists this year, and we are confident that we will be able to present you another great show.
Some of the artists who will be present this year in Germany are longtime friends, such as Chico & the Gypsies, who have toured with us in France and Holland.
For some others, Mike Oldfield and OMD, it will be a first collaboration.
We have scheduled some meetings with Mike, Andy and Paul in July in order to prepare our musical collaboration.

I would like to invite you to suggest some ideas for repertoire for both artists : we obviously are familiar with the hits, but we may overlook a
hidden treasure, or a special version of a popular song, which can prove to be a great idea.

So please put your wish list on this forum, and who knows you'll realize
in December you had some influence ?

Best musical wishes,
Jan Vereecke

So,let's post and suggest what we wanna hear Mike playing @ NOTP

GREAT !!! Would be awesome to hear the Orchestral Hergest Ridge with Mike playing guitar instead of Steve Hillage. Have to have a think as to what else would work well orchestrally. :D

Some bad news from that thread (and Alex has already apologized for the mis-infomation at oldfield.de):

Maggie Reilly wird nicht dabei sein.

= Maggie Reilly will not participate :(
So who's going to sing then? Hopefully neither some no-name from the background-singers nor Pepsi again?

Sad to read that Maggie is not going to sing  :/

since I ordered the ticket when I read that "news"

Well, I'm going to make the best of it and enjoy it as it comes...

Perhaps a vocaloid version of Pepsi, named "Diet Pepsi" or "Pepsi Free".

Some serious concert ideas:

-a part of Amarok!
-mount Teide
-Guilty to stay in OMD style :)
-Platinum pt 4 +  PUNKADIDDLE
-Afghan! Afghan! Afghan!! Afghan!!!
-the part of ommadawn that's on the MO's Wonderland LP. (pt2, starting around 11.00).
-end with on Horseback. It's the sweetest song ever, totally NOTP worthy. Make us melt like sugar! World peace will be touchable for a moment.

Did I mention he should play Afghan?  :p

Alasdair Malloy wouldn´t want to be called a lady for he was percussionist for Tub 2.

I presume you meant Jody Linscott on Tub 3 premiere at Horse Guards Parade? :p

I loved her performance, she's got so much music in her, and it's all coming out!

On the notp forum they ask 5 questions at the Mike Oldfield fans :
Quote
Stephan Bodewig 12/07/2006, 00:00

02 Tubular Bells I (17 Wünsche)
03 Tears Of An Angel (14 Wünsche)
03 To France (14 Wünsche)
05 Five Miles Out (13 Wünsche)
06 Moonlight shadow (12 Wünsche)
07 Mont St. Michel (10 Wünsche)
08 Pictures In The Dark (8 Wünsche)
09 Far Above The Clouds (7 Wünsche)
10 Shadow On The Wall (6 Wünsche)
