The latest information coming our way from the Oldfield camp indicates that Mike is indeed considering playing live again. This is however at a similar stage to when he was considering a premiere concert for Tubular Bells 2003 - he made a lot of promising noises about talking to promoters and similar, then in the end it didn't happen.

There is no indication of where any concerts would take place, how many there would be, or exactly when it will happen.

We will of course let everyone know when anything becomes definite.

I'm thinking once Mike has finished touring Europe, he might like to visit brother Terry for a holiday in Australia.  Bring the family - they're all welcome whether he performs or not!

Incidentally, I notice that Terry has also just released a new album (Ethereal) and (from the looks of it) has also simplified his studio.  What a treat it would be to see them both unplugged and accoustic!

:)
well im not trying to be king of downloading, i just want to share a little he he.. Good to hear someone likes it. Maybe this should be on emule (i dont remember where i found it either) But those who gets it could maybe made a emule links or something. Those links i put down is just for 7 days and for a limited number of downloads. Thats sad
:/  But i will re-load them so many more can get it of course. But after a while i hope other people share it to others.

Its a very good interview and i saw it for first time yesterday/ night. I didnt know i had it. I was cleaning up dobbel songfiles and assort video files to video files ect.. So there it was. I think this was something special and thought about the rumours MO touring when he talked about what do with the concert and lights effects.
Its so damn hard to explain all in english.. Wish i was better...
So i could say more about the interview.

Well I had to borrow one of my son's spare pc a while ago,as mine went kapput and as a result lost everything stored :/ so your links helped a lot. :)

This interview was the first time I've ever seen M.O talk at any length and he spoke of various facts re:some of his music, how he loves the peace & tranquility of the countryside which is his home(and he appreciates the birds singing their dawn chorus-anyone likes that, good enough for me)demonstrates MVR and speaks of concerts past & plans he had about audience involvment ect.Was unable to focus absolute attention on the whole interview,as it's quite long and had to keep stopping/rewinding due to usual disturbances! (will see again soon).
Perhaps anyone else who has been able to do this will post more info? :)

Thank you so much for sharing this interview.  It is the most I have ever heard from him and really sheds a lot of light about him and his music.  As an American fan who has always felt alone in the dark when it comes to Mike Oldfield, all I can say is Thank you.  Thank you.

Welcome to the forum kazmac, where in Australia do you live? I am in South Australia and Andrew H lives in Melbourne.

Any news Korgscrew? We have a lot to organise, hiring a hall so we can all meet after the concert and sing and talk and drink and play music. It sounds like he is only planning to tour Europe, no talk of England?

Hmmm...
Maybe it would be fun to quote a whole 4 pages and then just say: 'I agree'
Or maybe not ;)
