Guess I'm new...
Anyway, I just have to point out that Mike Oldfiel's music is what keeps me going. Really, it's like the music is reading my thoughts. I started listening to his music as a twelve-year-old (I am seventeen now) and I never stopped liking it. Now I'm a real fan 
Gotta love the music, and the man!

I have been listening to Mike for many years and watched him (and friends) the other evening play a raw edition of TB on BBC4. A few days prior to that I had been listening to his early albums. They sound just as fantastic as when I first bought them. A true musical genius whose music will go on forever. There is no other like him, anywhere. Thanks Mike. |

I am a big fan of Mike Oldfield, I was listening to The Elements the best of Mike Oldfield on that album it has got five of my favourite tracks such as To France, Moonlight Shadow, Five MiLES Out, Ommadawn and Family Man. |

I found today this fantastic website and I think I'll frequently visit it from now on!Mike Oldfield is my favourite musician since I discovered him in 1981. I listen to a lot of music of all kinds, and I like many other musicians, but for some unknown reason, to me Mike's music means the most. The Music of the Spheres is another masterpiece in his career. You listen to it in any mood, and it's always beautiful. I fully agree with the remarks made by Bob R on March 29. I was very moved by the posting by Julie on the passing of her brother. You have all my simpathy, Julie. Mike, if you ever read this, only one thing from the deepest of my heart : thank you for all the wonderful music that you have created! |

I purchased "Music of the Spheres" this week and I have to say it should go down in time as one of the greatest compositions ever. I have been a big fan of Mike Oldfield since Tubular Bells was released in the 70's. His music just gets better.
Music of the Spheres is so Mike Oldfield, you just know from the first few Bars He wrote it. It is uplifting if your feeling down and one of the best chillout CD's if your tired. Play it as loud as you can, to the point of annoying the neighbours. |

Very happy about Mr. Oldfield's latest album I had received half an hour ago, I just clicked through the tracks on my way to the supermarket and back. Sounded like take 28 of The Orchestral Tubular Bells redone with nothing worth listening to for more than twenty seconds except the amazing voice of Hayley Westenra. Deeply disappointed I discarded the album somewhere in my CD shelf and I sincerely hope I'll never find it again. I used to be a great admirer of this aging alcoholic full of himself, but that did it for me. |

This is a very special dedication to my ever so sweet and dearest brother Raphael, who died on the 26th of January 2008 in Geneva, at the tender age of 24 years. Raphael loved listening to Mike Oldfield's 'Songs of the Distant Earth' as well as 'Voyager'. Infact,I am eternally grateful to Raphael for having introduced me to divine music.
Darling Raphael, may your lovely soul rest in everlasting peace. I hope you are now in a beautiful and tranquil place. I love you forever and I miss you more than words can describe. My life will never be the same now that you have departed this unjust world.

Hi.First time i've posted.Have any other guitarist Oldfield fans noticed that all the 'iconic' Oldfield guitars seem to have been sold off.Even the TB Tele and the 'Moonlight Shadow' strat along with all the SG Juniors.I notice that some of the PRS' as well.begs the question of what is he using now?Any ideas? |
