posted March 29, 2008 03:00 ET I purchased "Music of the Spheres" this week and I have to say it should go down in time as one of the greatest compositions ever. I have been a big fan of Mike Oldfield since Tubular Bells was released in the 70's. His music just gets better. Music of the Spheres is so Mike Oldfield, you just know from the first few Bars He wrote it. It is uplifting if your feeling down and one of the best chillout CD's if your tired. Play it as loud as you can, to the point of annoying the neighbours. |

posted March 14, 2008 12:47 ET Very happy about Mr. Oldfield's latest album I had received half an hour ago, I just clicked through the tracks on my way to the supermarket and back. Sounded like take 28 of The Orchestral Tubular Bells redone with nothing worth listening to for more than twenty seconds except the amazing voice of Hayley Westenra. Deeply disappointed I discarded the album somewhere in my CD shelf and I sincerely hope I'll never find it again. I used to be a great admirer of this aging alcoholic full of himself, but that did it for me. |

posted March 4, 2008 10:10 ET This is a very special dedication to my ever so sweet and dearest brother Raphael, who died on the 26th of January 2008 in Geneva, at the tender age of 24 years. Raphael loved listening to Mike Oldfield's 'Songs of the Distant Earth' as well as 'Voyager'. Infact,I am eternally grateful to Raphael for having introduced me to divine music. Darling Raphael, may your lovely soul rest in everlasting peace. I hope you are now in a beautiful and tranquil place. I love you forever and I miss you more than words can describe. My life will never be the same now that you have departed this unjust world.

posted September 23, 2007 16:21 ET Hello from Cape Town. Well done on the best MO website around. Changeling was very insightful, but too short - it made me want to know more. Can't wait for Mike's new album, which I've pre-ordered! I hope there are some South African fans out there. Mike, thanks for the music, all the years. Always. |

posted August 12, 2007 16:30 ET Read Changeling and enjoyed it very much. When someone has been your hero for the last 34 years you hang on to their every word. The thing I liked about it most, is that Mike was not out to call anybody or to have a bitch about everything, he just wanted to tell people what really happened, and put his point of view over.Well done Mike, great book, great read. |

posted April 25, 2006 13:20 ET I have one question and one question only. At the end of the original Tubular Bells vinyl LP there was what sounded like the Wall of Death motorbike going round and round. Did anybody else have this on their record and why wasn't it left on the record when made into cassettes and CD's ? Or maybe it shouln't have been there in the first place ?? |

posted April 1, 2006 15:51 ET Hi! I just love looking at this website. Mike's music is "feel good" music. I would like to see the release of an album with all the non-album tracks. You know the ones - Wreckorder rondo, in the pool, bones, mike's reel. How about it? i would also suggest a Mike Oldfield christmas album. |
